Wilson Pro Labs: Ultra Pro (16x19) Official Thread

These sticks are available in player packs, should be on the site soon

interesting - you think that's the same as the pro labs racquet? looks like it from what i could read on the side. i don't think i would want to commit as much as that $1k+

Yeah. They’re the same sticks. They do it with most of their high end frames, just a package deal to save cash. I think they target juniors maybe? Yeah, same about the commitment plus I don’t need a bag, but wanted to share since I have to think the frames are going to be there soon

oh the sad irony that when i was a competitive player i could have used this many racquets for a tournament but lacked the money but now that i have the money i don't play enough tournaments where i need this

yes select team is the junior sponsorship program. the deal used to be much better though. I used to be able to get each frame for 95. unbelievable how much has changed

this all being said, i approach racquets like i approach buying cars and almost never buy new. 2021 was the first time i got a new racquet in over a decade and it was an xmas gift of this stick

Ha, the sad irony indeed. They have packages anywhere from 2 sticks to 5. Even if you get two it still comes with the 15 pack bag which is funny to me.

I’ll buy a pair of these new, but for $200 it will be as good as most used (current gen) sticks

some of those bundles put the bag at full price. it looks nice online but it doesn't feel like you're getting that good of a deal

Ultra Pro V4 should be available in europe around may 2023. I don't know if it will be available in retail stores or only on the Wilson website.

These have been on the team site for quite awhile, but not available for purchase only "store pickup". I saw them on there December 8, but still not available through pro labs. So unfortunatley, it isn't a sign that they are imminent :(

Oh, well my excitement was definitely premature. Thank you for the data point

taylor15 I see that you like the Ultra Pro over the Blade Pro. What is it about the Ultra Pro that you like more? The Blade Pro is my current racquet, but I have wondered about the Ultra Pro. Maybe when they come out in the new paint job I will buy a couple to try....

The Ultra Por me is more maneuverable and easier to swing. The BP has more of a Blade type balance whereas the UP has more of a players frame type balance. Not to mention the UP is a thinner beam. For this reason I find the UP more precise. The BP has more power and plow through.

Has anyone hit the UP16 and the newest Vcore Pro 97/310? Just curious on any feedback between the two. Thanks!

I have (UP18) but theyre very different rackets, UP is a platform racket meant to me customzied to some degree. the VCP310 *should* play fine stock but it lacks a lot of stability since its pretty headlight and fast swinging. just doesn't feel right on impact in my opinion. It deserves some weight in the hoop. it also feels very muted compared to the UP

I’ve customized my Vcore a bit, with 2g each at 10/2 and 2.5g at 12. Just wondering if I’d get more feel/possible power with similar mods to the UP.

you will get more feel for sure, and you have more room for customization. the base weight is much lighter so you could potentially ad more to the hoop and make it have more plow through

Did they mention what year?
:-D
I agree, Wilson is so slow.... I just ordered more Blade Pro's & few other things from them on Tuesday. Called them today because it hadn't shipped yet. They told me it would ship Monday. I'm like I spent $1200 with you & you haven't even shipped it yet, unbelievable. I told them most companies would have had shipped & to me in two days:(

Does seem like a lot of processing time.

Aside from that, the V4 is and has been listed on the Australian Wilson site since like Sept-oct of last year...?

I was told they would be in stock in the US at the end of January. Then I heard Mid March. I think they were more focused on getting the Prostaff 14's out first, then they MAY get to the other stuff.

Sorry, missed this so long ago. I just prefer traditionally weighted balance I suppose, and 338-340 grams strung at 7 pts headlight. The high SW / low static just doesn’t work for me.

Alternatively for my wife she loves the blade pro

I third this. Sent Wilson an email asking if they had a drop date. Worth a shot in the dark. Maybe they just have too many v3 paint jobs still in stock …?

Local shop told a friend of mine that Wilson has DC’d the Ultra line. I’m assuming the pro labs will live on since Australia has had them for a while.

The frame is basically a 100 version of the Tour 95 and previously (v3) it has only been available in Japan/Asia. That's why I'm asking... maybe Wilson will make it available outside of Asia?
This guy also has the new Pj of the ultra pro 18x20 and I’ve asked him a few times when it’s coming to the US, he’s very cagey and won’t let on.
