Some talk of the grips seeming larger. As in: more so than the Ultra Tour that's been out for awhile?
I have the original Ultra Tour and I think the 3/8 in the racquet I just received (16x19) is bigger than the normal 3/8 from Wilson. It could just be my racquet though. I can resolve this pretty easily with a thin leather grip or a Babolat skin feel grip. Not a huge deal but it definitely caught my attention holding it the first time.
That's fair. Rather have a good stringjob than just who happened to be closest. I was just joking around why it seemed, there wasn't anyone, in Australia I guess, who wanted to review the 16x19.
At least they can give you exact specs. RA would be nice but I think precise SW is already pretty good.
Thank you for this.Update: Received the specs (unstrung) from the stringer. Will pick up the racquets on 16th Oct.
The UP 16x19 is 310g static; 287 SW; 315mm Balance (this is still with plastic on grip).
I'm happy with that. I'm stringing it (and the UT 18x20) with Tier 1 Black Knight 1.18mm in the Mains (the UP 16x19 @ 50 lbs, and the UT 18x20 @ 46 lbs) and Babolat Origin 1.25mm in the crosses (UP @ 47 and UT @ 43). I will let you know of strung specs when I get them.
The BP 16x19 is another story... but that's for the other threads (BP and Wilson Pro Labs).

Just got an email from the French Wilson website saying launch date can vary from the USA but “it seems” the Ultra 16x19 is also scheduled for Europe. They will investigate further and come back to me if there is a date to be announced.

Thanks very much for posting the first play review of the UP 16x19! Just wondering...how would you rate the power compared to the 18x20 -- similar, or a tad higher for the 16x19? Thanks! So I was was able to get about a 30 minute hit with the frame this afternoon. Very plush. The RA is probably 60 or so. I have the 18x20 version as well and it does feel a bit softer than that version. It is very similar to the 18x20 but with more spin and height on the ball (in a very good controllable way) as everyone expected. This racquet felt like it had tons of control and while I only spent about 30 minutes I felt like I could swing for the fences and it would stay in. The main thing it is lacking is plow. I did put some lead at 3 & 9 but it needs more and I may put it at 12 as well to really up the swing weight more. While I was only able to hit with it for a short time (thanks to work), it has potential to be a special racquet for me. I like 16x19 patterns better and while I liked the original ultra tour this one could really be a great racquet for me. I need to spend some time getting the weight right as the ball I was hitting wasn’t ‘jumping’ like it does with my modified Blade 16x19. I hope to get out with it a good bit more this week and I may pull the trigger on a second. Lots of potential here for me as I was looking for a soft controlled oriented frame that was more naturally headlight than my Blade. I think many of you will be pleased but expect to tinker with it to get the weight right which I believe many of you were expecting to do anyway. More to come...

Thank you. It seems the 16x19 and the blade 18x20 have similar spacing in the center(?).Here is a quick photo of the two frames side by side with the 16x19 on the right. The photo isn’t great but hopefully you can see the differences in the pattern between the two. By differences I mean I think the 16x19 is more open than I anticipated which was a good surprise for me,

low SW, no? Is this expected?

It seems that spacing of the center mains is very close to the 18x20 so I expect spin would be about the same. But the 16x19 has to be a little more powerful (and a little more comfy)...Definitely a frame that requires lead. The key thing I'm hoping for (and many others too) is that this opened patterned version, set up the same way as the 18m, might be just slightly more powerful and spinny than the 18m. Hopefully you find that to be true after some more tinkering.

Thank you for this very first worldwide review of the UP 16x19!
Does it have the same buttery feel than the Ultra Tour 18x20?

I just measure the distance between grommet holes....To me, when I compare the two the spacing on the 16m version is wider. My 18m racquet is strung with a 17g while my 16m is strung with a 16g cross and 17g main. There is definitely a difference...it isn’t huge in my opinion but it isn’t subtle either (if that makes sense). I was expecting the spacing to be a bit more closed on the 16m but with 6m in the middle it is pretty open compared to what I was expecting. From my perspective, all of this is a good thing for me as I had to string my 18m with a very thin 1.10 poly to get more spin. My game doesn’t have a ton of spin which is why I like the 16x19 patterns to give me a little help. I think this frame will have a lot of fans.

@blackpearl2007 Are you still feeling that the UP 16m grip seems slightly larger than the same with your 18m UT?
Hitting with mine tomorrow. Stringing up today with same string as my UT.So.... Nobody else tried the UP 16x19 as of today?

I think a few Aussies got them already, but here in the states I don't think anyone else has their's yet. Mine is coming tomorrow, but I'll need a day or two to get it strung.
My racquets were delivered this evening ... but I'm out of town till tomorrow night. My youngest son laid eyes on them first and is already lobbying for them. He said the gloss finish is amazing. Will post initial specs tomorrow night.
Will do.Would be very interested to get a comparison between this frame and the Prestige Pro I see in your sig.
Made my order - shipping out 12 October, 2020 from Wilson so will update everyone with weight once I receive.
@haqq777 - great idea to start the Blade Pro thread

Can you verify the launch angle off the string bed of the UP 16x19? When you say this pattern 'gives ... a little help,' hopefully you're just referring to added bite/spin to bring the ball down and not some weird launch angle. What I love about my UTs (and TC95 18x20s before them) is the ability to dictate exactly how much net clearance I want. The 18x20 is so honest that way, and the UT already gives me a lot of spin. Going back to a 6m/throat 16x19 is my only reservation on this one.
