given the price is back up and because Tuesdays are what they are, I'm back to planning on keeping my 2nd one when it arrives today.
The only thing that really sucks about the UP is how much d**king around with lead you have to do to get it to perform the way you want it to. I've shifted more to 3/9 and now have 3g at 12, 4g at 3/9, 2g at 6 , 6 or 7g in the butt, and the damn thing is playing great again.

Yeah. Same. I decided to just return everything including the racquets. Not worth the trouble when there are so many other good frames.

Yeah, it's especially wild because the grommets were a known issue on the 16x19. I imagine they got a ton of returns and they still can't get it right.

are you still using the UP or a pro labs frame? for me, id rather resell than return but i get the frustration

Currently, no. I have some v8 BPs I need to string up and try (and I'm out of the return window for those). I used to play with the UP16s but sold them and I have one UP18 I am keeping just to have one. Since it's by no means a main frame for me there's no reason for me to take the resale risk when I could return the extras.

Thank God. I added them to the cart on all my devices including my daughters ipad. Even woke up once at 2.30AM and added 2 to the cart.

I prefer the feel and control of the 18 mains. The 16 I found to be very comfortable and forgiving but it didn't really strengthen any part of my game. It was just kind of a good all-rounder that was 1-to-1 for everything I put in, which made it pretty honest but the 18 feels a bit more like the ball does what I want it to. Again with the caveat that I don't main the 18, it's just something I'd like to keep around for an occasional hit.
Wilson Australia confirmed it's just a cosmetic upgrade and that the V4 grommets will fit V3. They even updated their website after my email to them.
Wilson USA doubled down saying they're not compatible, and they think their warehouse just mixed up the grommets and asked me reorder them. Despite the fact that I said the SKU on the website matches what I received, but what I received is clearly wrong. I told them they likely have the listing wrong and it needs to be fixed.

i wouldn’t worry about Wilson USA saying that. Customer Service agents only know what they have been given. I’m sure they know the regular Ultra grommets with the new paint job don’t fit the older Ultras (I’m guessing here) , so they just assume the same for the Ultra Pro as marketing probably hasn’t given them the info yet in their knowledge database. UP is a niche seller for dorks like us.
I’m sure the the v4 will fit the v3 paint jobs once all is said and done.
Anyway decided to keep my 2nd frame. only needed 8 grams on the hoop with this one instead of 9 on my other. basically 2g at 12, 4g 3/9, 2g 6, and 4 grams in the butt cap. Plays very nicely!!!

Pretty sure those are the ones I got too. I ordered the 16x19 ones this time just to see if I get the 18x20 instead. Stay tuned!
Wilson USA sent me a new link and told me to order those. I did.
The next day, I got an email saying "there was an error with the website that is being looked into, but I'm afraid you'll be receiving the wrong grommets again. We can't cancel the order even though its currently processing."
So, after several days of emails, asking how I can obtain the proper grommets, I've reached the following conclusion:
Wilson AU is fantastic. They answered my question promptly, even 'confirmed it with the racket design team.'
Wilson USA is pathetic. I identified the problem for them, they sent me a direct link on what to order, it was wrong (still!), and they have yet to answer what I need to do to receive the actual grommets I want. They are good at apologizing for 'any inconvenience this may have caused' while ignoring my direct questions. LOL!

Oh I can believe this, having corresponded with their CS too often as of late lol.
I know I couldn't believe it either. I asked to speak to another representative, as I've gotten no where with the current one.
I'm tempted to just reach out to Mark at Wilson Australia again. He was great....I miss him. His prompt 2 emails that answered my question immediately.
This does mark my longest tennis conversation with any retailer regarding completing a purchase.
good call. i just checked my grommets for the v4 18x20 i ordered and they only have 70 holes.

curious to see how they resolve this. wouldn't be surprised if they did nothing, but that sucks for those who ordered thinking they got the correct set. no one pulls out their spare grommet set when they receive it to check against their frames.
i ordered the "16x19 sets" and hoping i dont get the actual 16x19 sets now.

Lots of us tried both frames ages ago. The 16x19 doesn’t feel quite as good and is a really difficult frame to get a penetrating ball. Lots of balls will come back to you that wouldn’t with another frame. The 18M is a better racket. YMMV

Guys I must admit I blew through this thread really quickly but I found the grommets for the Pro blade , both patterns for $10. Both are in stock. Am I missing something ?

When you tried them did you weight them up to the same spec ?

It was before Briffidi was released so it’s hard to say. I think I had ~6-7 grams on the hoop. 4g at 3/9 anyway. Maybe 3g at 12. I remember putting quite a bit on the handle too. Maybe 10g. Great serving frame. Great at the net. Just had to try and kill the ball from the baseline and the ball would still sit up.
Can confirm ordering 18x20 will get you 16x19s
