Wilson Pro Labs. You have got to be kidding me !

After waiting for many years and I see you released the much anticipated Blade Pro 98 H22. I was about to submit my order but
Why on earth do you change it to a thinner 21.5 beam ? H22 is supposed to be 22mm and it is perfect.
Am I missing something here ? What is behind the decision ?

Update
Ok I almost forgot about the roller coaster QC that they have. Maybe mine will turn out to be 22.5 or so.
Thanks for the LOL

Yes, because 0.5mm will make it play different with the same layup...
I assume it is the H22 just marketing number.
As long as they offer you the “perfect” layup, you won’t see any difference

Half a millimeter?!?!?! Why Wilson?! Why must you ruin perfection with this unforgivable screw-up???????

In all seriousness (LMAO :-D ) the beam of the H22 was probably 21.5mm all along, with Wilson just rounding the number off to 22mm. Just like the Blade and H19 mold have 21mm listed beams but Wilson lists an actual thickness of 20.6mm. I've noticed that there can be a 0.5mm or so variance between actual beam width of rackets and what tennis websites will list.

I've found the beam measurements can vary 0.5mm even with the same mold. See the Youtek Radical and Youtek IG Radical. Same mold, but beam thickness measurements were 0.5mm off from each other.

I imagine that's probably what is happening here.

Missed your post before my last comment. I bet you're right on the money.

How likely is that HEAD will follow the suit sooner rather than later?
And I suppose, that these PRO LABS will not be sold through distributors?

So now Wilson created the h21.5 that nobody had before. Or maybe they put a 0.5 mm less paint on the h22 ? Lol

it is either the cost cutting or Wilson is measuring the beam width "under the PJ"... like how Head now measures their head size inside the frame now.... lol 8-B

head has to continue their lies till the end. They have no other choice. They will never sell a true Djokovic 113b radical or a Murray pt57 in 16x19. Wilson beat them to it, again.

umm... how so? do you know for sure that the so called Pro lab lines are the actual H22 and H19 Wilson pros are currently using on the tour (read: exactly the same, using your examples)?

This is an outrage!!! How dare they cheat you of that .5mm that we can so obviously notice!!

Good thing you didn't place that order. You can keep hunting down real H22s at twice the price and leave this "Blade Pro" for the uneducated rubes to buy.

I have not received the pros yet so I really don’t know. They may be +-7% or even worth than a retail blade. I will need to play them and compare to my H22.

ah, i get it - so your previous comments/accusations was unfounded..... thanks for clearing it up.
i/we look forward to your final assessment after your personal review. in the meantime - do you know the actual pro stock RA and SW vs. the newly released pro stock RA and SW? to make it easier, lets only compare the H22 versions. thank you v much.

What accusations? I pointed out a discrepancy in racquet dimension and there could be more differences no one knows yet.
Don’t be so defensive about it.

coloured them in for ya.
not being defensive about it - just wanted to double check.
looks like you have (still) something to grind with Head (the manufacturer that is...)

you do realize that the margins on spec allow for +/- 3.5 points?

I know that if order 2 rackets, and one is 305g -7g, while the other one is 305g +7g, with everything else being same (as much as it can be same), I will have 2 different sticks.
Actually I have something similar with Bab APD.

Yet I find it a bit weird that the target flex is missing, and target SW is missing.
Granted that Wilson uses their own metric for RA, but what about SW?

SInce the rackets are hand made, the flex also has the margins and if one is 3-4 points off, it may feel different...

Well. The answers will soon come out once we have the blade pros to compare.
Plus when head tells ppl Djoker uses a Speed and many went out and bought them, that is just beyond me. I don’t want to see ppl wasting their money buying into this misrepresentation.
cool - please enlighten some of us how Wilson and other companies have lied and how have they lied to you? thank you.

ah okay, gotcha.
can you also give us an example of how Wilson is misrepresenting the same way to the public? just one example please.
btw - if the new pro lab Blade Pro is indeed 21.5mm beam width and not the 22mm you said the "real" H22 need to/should be, will you be changing your username to "Alexh21.5" 8-B

0.5mm... unbelievable!!!
Cos the TWE level player can even tell the 0.25mm difference. Lol
I must be useless cos I know I won’t be able to, let alone the 0.5mm difference.

I don't want to add fuel and reignite the "debate" here because most of this thread has been pretty disgusting. But .5mm is well within at the end of what is noticeable. 1mm definitely.

For people normally so obsessed with finding, paying for, and playing with the best stick for their game, and so demanding that racquet companies give them the best - you guys sure are unbelievablely flippant when someone suggests a .5mm could detrimentally impact a racquets normal target performance
.5mm change would make a difference to how a racquet plays and feels. I guess all those racquet companies just randomly decide what to make the beam width in a racquet be.

20.6, 21.6, 20.2, 19, 17, 17.5 who cares? No can notice and it definitely doesn't make a difference anyway.... Let's go ahead and make racquets with that specific beam width, but let's just round those numbers off so people don't get confused with their incredibly smart and remarkably astute minds.

Also, those golf club manufacturers are bad, and those Nascar guys showing Toyotas (camry looking) flying on the track are bad, and Nike for making us buy crapy shoes while giving Fed and Dimi something else, and Babolat selling tons of APD telling us that Rafa and Tsonga and others are using it, and yonex selling whatever Hewitt or Stan or...is "using", and the skis that we buy thinking the professional skiers use, and soccer cleats that we pour money in...

What is your point Mr. Pro tennis player wannabe?

You noticed? You mean I noticed.

Don't be afraid if racquet companies or retailers round off specs to what they think players will like.

Blade 93 - 20.2mm listed as 20mm or 21mm lol.
TF40 - 21.7mm listed as 22mm
Guys, there are people who will find any small thing to complain about without doing any prior research because their first instinct is to complain. Don't feed them by answering their accusations/complaints. Thread over (I hope).
No... Not yet.
