Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 autograph VS Babolat Pure Aero Tour

I know that choosing a racket can be a little subjective to personal preferences, but I have been thinking of a racket change and wanted to get some other people's opinions. I currently use a Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph. I love the feel, stability, and plow through. However recently I have been questioning switching to the Babolat Pure Aero Tour. I have been sending more balls long than I ever did before and just not getting as much spin on my shots. Before the Wilson I had a Babolat aero storm tour, which I loved and only switched after cracking a frame and not being able to find another one. Since there wasn't anything out before that was similar I think I might have made too radical of a change.

Thoughts and or advice?

Thank You!

I think if you are coming from RF 97, you might be better off with demoing the Pure Drive Tour. It has all the plow through, power and spin, but it is easy to swing (*compared to RF 97) and offers nice control. Have you also tried Pure Strike Tour if you are considering a Babolat frame?

I cannot swing either for too long of a time but IMHO the PAT is as far away from the Aero Storm tour as the RF is. The RF-97 is an exceptionally powerful and heavy racquet. Mine came in at 13 ounces with Dampner and overwrap. The PAT is much lighter at 12 ounces with the same set up. The problem for me is that both of the PA's are extremely powerful racquets that do not have nearly the control or feel of your two previous racquets. The spin is crazy and very seductive but I feel your sort of locked in to using some sort of spin on very stroke or risk hitting the back fence.

The Pure Drive Tour might be a good choice as is the Yonex DR-98 or DR-100, though you may have to add some lead to get it to your specs. The 98 has less pop but tons of control and spin. The 100 has more pop but is lighter. surprisingly, I found the DR-100 more stable on volleys than the PAT, which is odd as it is a much lighter stick. also, I can get more spin with the PS-97 as it is lighter and has about 13pts lower swingweight.

Lastly (sorry), you could lead up a 2013 APD to your specs and get pretty cloet to your storm.

@prb3512 This one? - http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Reviews/BASGT/BASGTReview.html

The RF and Pure Aero both are much more open stringbeds which could be contributing to your excessive power. Swingweight of the RF is probably a touch higher as well which would only add more easy depth once you adjust to it.

The Pure Control Tour was supposed to replace that but the swingweight is way down from what they have the storm listed at. A Yonex Duel G or Tour G 310 and lead may get you close, but if you can wait there is supposed to be something new coming out in the storm mold.

Edit: I think I'm wrong about the control replacing the storm

Really? What are they talking about and when?

I did demo that before the RF and it felt light and muted.

The Stars and Stripes seems like a regular version. Is there going to be a tour version are far as anyone knows?
