Wilson Pro Staff RF97A on clearance

LOL. I couldn't tell if this was a fake thread or not but here goes. Ummm the black & white RF97A is the new one. Fed tried it out and decided he wanted to stick with the old black one. So no one was interested in buying the black & white version because Fed wasn't even using it. I think this is the first time a player refused to use a new version of a frame, after it was announced and promoted that he would be. Of course if anyone can do this, it would be Fed.

Keep in mind all 3 versions of the RF97A are all the same and are all just cosmetic paint jobs. SO Fed's old version sells for more than the new version of the same frame. Hilarious.

Now perhaps you already know all of this but are wondering if a new pj is coming?

I knew all that lol, just curious if a new paint job was coming. I have a buddy that works at Wilson here in AZ and he plays with a custom painted RF97A that is white and marroon with white grommets

The RF 97 Autograph is indeed a great frame, but not for the timid or weak. It has quite a bit of heft to it.

I suspect they are dumping the black/white paint job due to Fed not using it. However, if you go to Wilson's website you can order this racquet and a number of others with custom paint jobs to your liking. Of course, you pay a bit of a premium for the privilege.

Just saw the RF on Wilson custom. I didn't know it was there now, checked a month or so ago and only saw the 97

i gave it and its “typical” user a LOT of crap when it first came out ... then 3 yrs later i actually used one. very solid and will do anything you need it to do. like you said, it weighs more than most.

Same thing with Pete Sampras and Jim Courier

I need to do a search to see how many times certain posters replied "no racquet is too heavy if you use your legs", "you need to use your whole body when swinging and the weight won't be an issue," or "you're using the wrong strokes," when someone mentioned it was too heavy. So I told this to my 9 yo when she was trying to serve with it lol
