Wilson Pro Staff Six.One 95 V.13 (Pro Labs)

So I just ordered this stick from Wilson Pro Labs. UPS should be delivering it today. As soon as it arrives, I'm taking it to my stringer and putting on a full bed of 17g Babolat Gut, string savers, a tan Wilson leather grip and just for the nostalgia, some power pads. How many of you guys and gals have tried out the newest version of this iconic six.one? And do you suppose it's truly a pro stock racquet since it's coming from Wilson Pro Labs? I've listed everything I'm doing to it, it's pretty much an open discussion on the racquet and the kind of customization/personalization.

IMHO, "pro stock" means a version (whatever the variations may be - mold/paint/layup/drill pattern/etc) not sold to amateurs at retail. ProLabs seems more like direct to consumer where you get glossy paint pro stock molds - with a retail layup. Not to say that layup is bad, just not the same choices a top pro would get. I have three different pro stock 6.1s and couldn't detect a big difference from their retail counterparts. Just matte vs glossy, with vs without a hologram sticker, & extended vs 27".

After using a few different versions of six.one over the years and now v13, honestly can't tell much of a difference from the nCode ones I used in 2018. Really happy the new prolabs ones don't have amplifeel or parallel drilling, just new examples of an old formula.

As for customization, I put a thinner wilson synthetic grip and lead at 3 & 6 on the v13 and really like it! Thought my backhand might suffer going from 97 to 95 but if anything its been more reliable/accurate since switching (back)

So I just watched a youtube video with TW announcing the Pro Staff 6.1 95 v13 (incl the glossy paint finish) will be sold by them!
Just not in Europe.
So I'll just get mine from TW and pay € 348 (with shipping, customs charges and then 21% sales tax on racket+shipping).
That is US$ 369.
Nice move !

Where could I find the specs for the v13 version of this stick?

Specs did not change from V13 to V14

Thank you. Wow, you're right. No change it seems. I guess the v14 has a softer throat.

Pro Labs rackets of UP and BP have shown no changes... Not sure if they would have made any changes to the 6.1 either. Who knows? No one seems to either buy or use either edition

Sadly they still keep the prices high in the v14. Sub-$200 and I’d buy a couple.

probably just production quirks of individual racquets - the Pro Labs are the same frame with updated paintjobs afaik

maybe so, but the description says they’ve incorporated all their new tech into it when v13 is the HPS layup afaik
Believe they've always just included that generation's ProStaff tech information/marketing blurb but it's always just been a paintjob

v13 description

Wilson brings back the Six One 95 18x20! Like the previous versions, this v13 release delivers all the predictability and directional control that comes when you combine a compact 95 square inch headwith a dense 18x20 string pattern. The Six.One 95 also packs a 330 swingweight, which means it has enough mass to comfortably redirect the pace of a big hitting opponent while also offerings plenty of pop to those who can get it moving fast. Ultimately, the Six One 95 18x20 is a great option for the experienced player looking for plow-through and precision.

well for starters it... IS a classic ProStaff so the paradigm bending is covered, but yeah - the description is wrong - it is the same "pro stock" frame like the Blade Pro etc... Believe the 6.1 100 is the same, not updated with new tech, just the glossy pj

that was a thread a while ago where people were talking about it. idk, doesn’t say anything like that on the blade or ultra. not that i don’t believe you, but i’d like to see other confirmation.

The v13 is the HPS 6.1 layup, the v14 has the paradigm bending, braid 45 and all of that. Talked to Wilson about that a few months ago

Love this frame!!! I used it for awhile and then once I heard Rublev used it as a junior and the Gravity Pro was developed for him as a replacement, I demoed one and fell in love. Even though it was "just" a bridge frame for me, I have so much love for it in my heart.

Gravity Pro had been out for a long time before he moved too it.

Just a bit of info... he's Six One's were 18/20's but has rhe 16/19 PJ and spec in the throat... as I made that mistake when I first strung for him at an exhibition in Liverpool some years ago.

His coach was very nice, as was Andrey.

Claim to fame.

Yeah, they're just letting it die. Open pattern on this would be a revelation. I don't see what it would cannibalize in the rest of the range. Truly a shame. They could at least offer it as a Pro Lab.

Wilson is a tennis influencer brand now. They were nice enough to put a bronze/copper paintjob (god awful cosmetic btw) on the current Six.One 95 (v14), so at least one person in the board room has their head on right(kinda).

It's all about eye catching colors that play well with camera's and lighting.

Babolat, Head, Yonex, and Tecnifibre are the mainstream tennis brands now. I would vouch for Dunlop, but they are kind of doing the same thing (trying to build a influencer presence) but with way more concessions for partners, usually because they dont have the capital of a bigger player like Wilson.
