I recently purchased two Wilson Pro Staffs from Goodwill that I think are St. Vincent models. Actually, I am very confident one of them is because it has a clear sticker above the "W" on the butt cap that says St. Vincent, W.I.
Both racquets appear to be 85" models. (I placed my Yonex RD-7 on top of both frames and the Pro Staffs head is slightly smaller than the 95" head size of the Yonex.)
The Pro Staff with the St. Vincent sticker has the letters "AYO" or "AYQ" on the butt. (I'm having difficulty reading the last letter.)
The Pro Staff without the sticker has the letters "AZQ" on the butt.
Both racquets have the following characteristics:
1. Red color appears underneath the black painted frame. (I have heard that a red primer can be an indication of a St. Vincent frame.)
2. Bumber guard
3. "Pro Staff" written on the left part of the frame below the throat area
4. "Midsize" written on the left-hand side of "Pro Staff" on one of the sides
5. "Braided Graphite/Kevlar Composite 80% Graphite 20% Kevlar" appears on the opposite side of the frame
6. Inside the throat area is written "Recommended Tension Range: 50-60 lbs. Higher tensions give you more control. Lower tensions give you more power."
7. On the opposite side of the throat area is written "PWS, the original Perimeter Weighting System, gives you the advantage of repositioned weight to provide extra stability, power and control in a headlight racket."
8. Both racquets have leather grips
What do you think? Am I the lucky owner of two St. Vincents?
Thanks for your help!
