Wilson Pro Stock Line

Where can I see if Wilson is referring the new Blade 98 Pro as H22? 8-B

(I think I will wait for abit longer and see some reviews.)

Same i don't think these are anything like pro-stock H22 or H19. just another cash grab from wilson. almost pulled the trigger on the six.one 95 based on nice paint job but backed out when i could get the same racket in the k-factor for almost $150 less. no paint is worth that much. will wait for reviews instead.

I've always regretted selling my H22 18x20. Then watching the price of a replacement on the pro stock market continue to rise while my national currency slumped. That H22 was most solid and arm friendly racket I've ever used and right up there for 'feel'. The only knock I had on it was that the flex was a bit too much for my personal liking. Guessing it was around the mid to high fifties.

Super stoked for this release from Wilson. Let the haters hate. By the look of the frame on the Wilson site it appears to be an H22 mold, certainly not Blade. And it is unadulterated. As the marketing schpiel suggests, pro stock rackets are made for customising. There are no standard pro stock specs. My H22 had an empty handle and no lead. 'Stock' it was head heavy with light static weight of around 280 grams from memory, requiring customisation to make it useable, obviously to the preferred specs of whichever pro chose it from the pro room. It seems that Wilson have given some consideration to the recreational market by making the specs useable off the shelf but also allowing room to customise. The specs look like there will be enough weight in the hoop to make it play solid. The Ultra Pro I felt was a disappointment in that regard.

Can't wait to get my hands on my glossy new H22 18x20. Kudos to Wilson for finally piercing the 'pro stock' veil.

Lol - the UK pricing vs US pricing is outrageous..... but then again, @Vicious49 - as much as I love green colour, guess the £300 Blade 98 Pro would be easier to obtain & swallow than a new 126610LV... lol

Also, is it me or am I the only one not able to see/relate these new pro lab racquets with the supposed Wilson pro stock “Hxx” designation?

Yep, $249 for the US, $383 for UK!

Was pretty set on buying one but may as well wait and see if stuff like SW and RA get reported anywhere first...

In a way I am glad to see the UK prices so high - certainly don't need another racquet and helps me not to get tempted. I considered getting an H22 from the forums a while ago at roughly the same price and decided against it. And not much has changed now. Happy with my retail blade at half the price

I don't want to pull the trigger yet.. Ill wait for reviews.. If I miss out and it's out of stock, oh well :/ but hopefully it won't be a limited release in one of the post in a few pages back.

From the limited pictures/info available on the Wilson, there are good identifiers to confirm the Blade pro is an H22 mold.
-The "U" shaped Bumper guard ending vs the "V/Y" shaped bumper guard ending of a typical Blade
-The gap between the grommet ending and string channel ending (Blades don't have this gap)
-Flat beam vs D-shaped curved beam.

If you're expecting Wilson to say, "Hey this Blade pro is actually our secret H22 racquet which we've actually been making for 10+ years for our touring pros and now it's finally available to the public," most likely not going to happen....
thanks, i agree with the last bit if Wilson will ever admitting.... lol
thanks for the tell-tale signs on the H22 - so much to learn still. (y)

This all is really tempting.....I remember demoing an Ultra Tour around a year and a half ago and almost switching, but I didn't because I wanted a 16 main pattern. That Ultra Pro 16x19 is exactly what I was looking for back then. But this H22/Blade Pro is intriguing. I'm currently vacillating in between my Phantom 100P's and my customized Diadem Elevate that I'm testing, and from everything I've heard about the H22 (if this Blade Pro plays similarly to the pro stocks), it might just have a similar flex profile to my 100Ps (more flex in throat) in a smaller headsize. But judging by how the Ultra Tour feels, I really love that feel/even flex too. Plus there's extra room for customization and I can get the racket more headlight, which I like. Hopefully these play well and Wilson doesn't botch the quality control on 'em, because I might just have to pull the trigger. Will wait to see what y'all have to say about these once you test them.

One thing clearly missing in their published specs is RA and SW. So no idea what I’m getting there

There are two possible customer demographics Wilson is targeting for this new pro stock line. The hardcore advanced player that can actually play with a real H19 and H22 and would care and know what the SW and RA specs are.

The other demographic would be cash rich rec players who want the same racquet as the pros, but wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a retail frame and a real pro stock frame. I'm really hoping it's the former rather than latter "demo" Wilson is targeting.

most of us here are in the latter group deluding ourselves to being in the former... and now we can also brag to the current blade users that their v7 isnt actually what the pros use, only to get bageled. Oh wait... this is getting too anecdotal...

How have you been able to see this? The US site only delivers in the the USA.
I am waiting to see when they will release it directly in Europe, best option i assume.

They're up on the EU website now. £320 for a Blade Pro 16x19/18x20. We always get this stupid price increase.

suppose that is another option... but need to bear in mind that we may have to pay the VAT and the delivery fee... so it may end up to be the same-ish...

Some input on stringing please from H22 experienced peeps. I have some Confidential and Hyper-g 1.25 and thinking 49lbs. When I had a blade V7 16x19 i strung 48lbs.

well... i wish by holding a "pro stock" of some sort, it will automatically increase my rating from 2.75 to 3.5 at least.... maybe even more if i do 2HBH all the time. :-D

How sure are we the Ultras are H19s?

Seems odd that the Blade Pro is £300, the 6.1 is £320 and the Ultra (18x20) is....£220 (16x19 not available yet)

Someone remind me again how much you can get a prostock for used already? H22 or H19? Just sayin...
Absolutely. Great price, no doubt. But only caveat here is that Wilson isn't planning on selling grommets for these. The only ones available right now are UT ones for the Ultra Pro, but once those run out, they don't plan on offering grommets for any Pro Lab offering (might change in the future but unlikely). Was told that by a Wilson rep just now. Hoping he isn't right but he generally is on top of his game.

I mean the grommets for prostocks are available out there and guys can source them, but they get pretty expensive.

I would assume/hope that if this is in fact not a 'limited' release then there will be enough demand/asks for grommets in time that they'll make some available.

For what it's worth, I believe you guys in the UK are getting hosed. Frames there appear to be going for 300 pounds/331 euro while on the Germany site, for example, it's 270 euro. And of course cheapest is in the States. They also only ship to the country in which you buy it from, so you can't get sneaky.

This makes me less inclined to buy a UP 16x19. Probably get a second 18x20, get the UT grommets and call it a day

Always been like that, I remember stocking up on frames as a kid when we went on family holidays to the US!
