Wilson PS 6.6 Stars and Stripes vs PS 6.0 95

I made a post a while back concerning the Wilson Pro Staff 6.6 Stars and Stripes racket. I'd been playing with it for quite some time without a back-up racket. Just recently, I purchased the Wilson PS 6.0 95 racket thinking it was a comparable racket. After hitting with it for a little over a week now, it just feels a little heavier and I just don't feel like the same player. My swings just feel a tad sluggish and I'm lacking the zip that I had with the 6.6. I noticed the 6.0 has better feel around the net. In addition, it seems to have a lot of power when hitting the sweet. But the 6.6 seems a little more forgiving and my return game is a lot better. Obviously this may perhaps be all mental. In addition, I'm thinking there may be an adjustment period. between using different rackets.

My question is to you guys, should I stick with the 6.0 for a little longer and see how things go? Or should I perhaps look elsewhere and start demoing other rackets? Lastly, I was thinking of instead getting a back-up for the "stars and stripes" since I liked that racket the most (even though the racket is discontinued and very rare)?

Currently, I'm probably a 4.5 player but I definitely feel I have the potential to improve and perhaps move up. Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about the exact weight. I know it's string pattern is 18 x 20. It's a 95 sq in frame...however that's all i know. If anyone knows any other specifics...feel free to post them.

I have not played with either racket. However when i made a similar post earlier concerning this issue...a few people did recommend the prestige racket. I just feel conflicted because I was playing so well with the stars and stripes....and now that I've made the switch...I just haven't been able to find my rhythm.

anyways, coda thank you for your input...any other ideas or suggestions are definitely welcomed.

those are really the only 18X20 frames that I care for. Volkl haters are going to burn me.

if you can get one, try the Yonex Rd-ti 70 for another 18x 20.

I used to play the pro staff classic 6.1 and love my Yonex now.

Otherwise try the Yonex RDX 500 HD. In my opinion, Yonex racquets have very high quality standards.

I went through three cracked classic 6.1s.

While we're on the subject, I have another question for you guys:

My wilson ps 6.6 stars and stripes is about 7-8 yrs old. Now I know there's a lot of differing opinions on this subject. But in your honest opinion...assuming the racket structure has no major cracks.....does the playability of the racket decline as it gets older??

depends on how much you playwith it...I think major graphite breakdown only occurs with top pros. Got a few old prostaffs that have been around for a decade and they still play wonderfully.

jayserinos99, I would be interested in your racket. What is the grip size and how much would you be asking for it?

Just picked up the Stars and Stripes for $5 at my local thrift. I know this is an old thread but can’t wait to hit it!
