I got 3 different PS Classic 6.1 (all white butt caps):

1 Made in China Pro Staff Classic 6.1 si (braided graphite/kevlar)
1 Made in China Pro Staff Classic 6.1 (graphite/kevlar)
1 Made in Taiwan Pro Staff 6.1 Classic (graphite/kevlar)

Which one is earlier? Which one is better? Are they all braided? I tried to search the forum but couldn't get any answer.

All have braided construction tech. Taiwan version plays the stiffest. The China model with graphics in italics plays the best. Not sure about the timeline on their manufacture.

I have yet to see a pro staff classic 6.1 85 besides the ps85 paint job. I don't even know if they exist or if someone made it up. Has anyone seen one before?

^^^ if you check Equijet's thread on Edberg's pj'd frames you'll see he posted a pic of a racket like you describe.

Tennis Man - the earliest of your frames is the italicized Pro Staff from Taiwan. I bought two of those back in '92 right when they came out. My guess on the next one would be the Chinese without the "braided" as Wilson probably wouldn't have changed the decal from the Taiwanese.......

that was my guess too but the question remains - are they all actually braided or just the latest China? From the wgt of them the seem quite similar.

That I don't know for sure. My assumption is that they all are braided given the weight.

Perhaps a dissection is in order? ;)

Maybe someone out there's cracked their PSC6.1 and would know. I'm quite surprised in the lack of contribution to your question only because of the large popularity of this frame in the past.
