Wilson Python coming in October 2026

Stocking with reels for the summer and definitely buying one frame at release, what kind of strings suite the P98/ Redline better - something stiffer and shaped like Lynx Tour, more powerful like Mach 10 or the added spin makes the launch too high compared to Blade so round poly like alu or hyper g round will be better?

I play normaly the Lynx Tour in control frames, but in Aero98 RPM blast was much better.
I liked confidential in the blade v9, I might try that out in the python when it comes out

I like lynx tour/hawk touch together in my p98, didn’t feel too launchy, but haven’t had a chance to try a lot of strings yet

I work in a shop - two dates have been given for release either the 29th of July or when US Open begins.

Also got word that release pushed to July/August. Staggered with only 98 potentially out in July, rest in August

Yeah, not that it means so much, but when I spoke to a rep at a larger retailer, they had no knowledge of shipments coming in nothing. So I can’t be that close to release.

What about around Wimbledon Jun 29- Jul 12 rumors?
Saw instagram reel from tenniswithdylan and the racket is displayed in Paris at Wilson athlete experience Store as P98 with the full black cosmetic.

Labs Release already happened. Only to pros and stuff this time... The Snakeskin was the Labs release.

305g 31.5cm balance and slight increased SW from what information I read on this thread earlier.
Oh no! I thought that the labs release with the paper meant that it’s a possibility that paint job would come out for retail. But now I see you’re saying that’s how the racket was shipped only to the pros with that white labs paper insert.

Things change. There might be more changing besides the release timing.. nothing set in stone yet basically.

A month ago from the same highly reliable source, the plan was for June/July staggered release and the product teaser was planned for mid May.

Those snakeskin ones are 1k according to Holytennis. If my buddy can source some he could sell it for cheaper.

Wouldn't a lot of sponsored players be dumping theirs the instant they are sent Red Paintjob versions? Or would they destroy them instead?

Thats a good question. Most likely it could go whomever that will sell it for a lot since it came from pro players. Or it will just stay in the pro room or the player's closet. Lol

Those were not the strokes I was expecting after the seriousness of the intro

I agree...
Everyone is at different levels and different spots in their tennis journey. However when someone isn't at someone solid level, 4.5 NRTP I find it hard to relate to their reviews. I think there's a point where the racket can start to enhance your game/strokes, but at the lower level you're getting marginal returns focusing on equipment and should work on the fundamentals (footwork/spacing, stroke mechanics, etc).

Just not my cup of tea, but props to them for putting a video out there and bringing more awareness to the racket.

I will note - I'm playing the best tennis of my life @ 40 yrs old with the Redline/python/p98. I have gloss black foam filled, and have a couple snake skins inbound.

Oh you guys are brutal lol. I wonder how did he get this racket, pro shop connection, Wilson rep? I need to ask out of pure curiosity, I'm way too lazy to dance between shots like this guy, I'll applaud him for being bouncy, but does the interesting viewing public of tennis warehouse, find this footwork admirable, irrelevant, perfect, silly, how does it play out optically?

Please dont post these kind of reviews... I beg you. :-D

The trance music he's added to the video, the bouncing around he does whilst waiting for the ball, and his generally dodgy hitting makes me feel unwell, but we must be open to opinions from people at different levels

It's bizarrely common for people to post videos of that kind of hitting. Peep the technique forum if you don't believe me. I don't get how you can edit that video and go on to upload it for public consumption unless you're also delusional enough to think the ad revenue is going to make back your $1000 pro stock purchase.

Thank you! I paid **** a somewhat heavy price to someone who was flipping the racquet.

I agree, a tad harsh :-D. I do appreciate and respect his thoughts but he’s currently at a level that he’s not getting the full effect of this racquet.

I would have paid that money for lessons instead... but I guess content and clout is more important.
$1,000 for a racquet isn't necessarily a lot of money for everyone. Especially if you consider that it'll maintain some of its value. The dude might just be really into tennis equipment. And maybe in 30 years he'll be the old dude in spandex with the $15k bicycle.

Why spend $1000 for a racket when you can buy a clearance tfight iso for example at $149 on TW? Or whatever outgoing head model or pro staff for 140-160?
