Wilson Python coming in October 2026

Finally got my hands on a snakeskin p98 and wow really impressed. I have a Aero VS and tried both the aero98 23 and 26 and the python plays most similar to the 26 in that it has a softer more solid feel. But wow the feel is just way better and control too. Didn’t get as good spin as the aero I don’t think but I’ll take this feel any day. Never liked the hollow tinny feel of the aero and my arm feels much better with the python. Wilson has a real winner and I think this racquet is going to take over modern tennis.

I think at the rec level a $1000 racket isn’t going to make your game better than a $150 clearance lol.

It’s bad enough retail frames are $299-305.
I don't think we need to rag on the guy that much, it's a hobby purchase, people buy more ridiculous and more expensive things all the time for no reason. I don't think anyone *really* needs new or special rackets at all, even the one that is $150 clearance lol. Now, if someone is buying it with the expectation their game is going to magically change... well, good luck to them lol.

I also don't think you guys realize he has 1.5k views within a day of uploading.

If he is able to invest that $1k into videos of stuff we would click on, he is on his way to recouping that and more.

He will make $1000 for about 1 million views probably?? Lets pray for 998,500 more views for him.

Like many of us on this board, new frames are frequently a matter of enthusiasm and collecting more than game improvement.

That said, there comes a point when enthusiasm is financially silly, but I think a lot of us cross that line

P98 luckily does not have tho flexi throat of the 2026 PA98 that makes it disconnected. Just tested a newer snakeskin prototype and P100 as well. Hopefully the retail won’t be too different.

The newer P100 unit feels significantly better (firmer) than the older one that’s also snakeskin from the same rep I hit with a month ago. So not all snakeskin are the same.

That's good to hear. Which one do you like more now?

We are posting on the most nerdy racquet forum there is. Idk why that rhetoric is worth repeating

It rings to me like going to car forums and meetups and reminding people that “hey these fun/expensive/exclusive cars are not going to make you drive better”

Out of those 2 units I hit with. P100 by far, but it also had better specs and strings for me. So I can’t say it was a fair shot. They were the same static weight but the P100 is 322 SW vs 315 SW of P98 unit. The P98 at that spec feels less solid and forgiving for sure. And the control was also better with 4G in the P100 for me.

The P98 unit is newer too but the rep agrees it’s not as different than the one he had a month ago.

Specs strung with overgrip:
P98 with Alu Black: 324g, 315 SW
P100 with 4G: 324g, 322 SW

It could compound.

Gets some views on this video, decices to buy another prototype and gets views on that video.

Add step by step and all of a sudden he could have a following.

At least that's how I see it if I were him what I'd be trying to do. Can't knock it but obv wouldn't do it myself.

Lol not trying to. Just sharing my opinion on $$.
I think $1000 for a racket is too much.

Is there anywhere to buy these things other than holy tennis and ****?

Did you like the 98 or 100 more? Nevermind... You answered it.

I wish we could get a somewhat confirmation on release date... Late June?? Late August??? Like come on already. This racquet has been around for two years already.

$1,000 for a racquet isn't necessarily a lot of money for everyone. Especially if you consider that it'll maintain some of its value. The dude might just be really into tennis equipment. And maybe in 30 years he'll be the old dude in spandex with the $15k bicycle.
I mean some people will actually end up paying $700k for a Ferrari Luce because it's not a lot of money to them. Doesn't mean its a smart or sound investment. It just means rich people can afford to make bad purchases.

Why spend $1000 for a racket when you can buy a clearance tfight iso for example at $149 on TW? Or whatever outgoing head model or pro staff for 140-160?

The varying opinions on how people choose to spend their money is hilarious

But there is another way to look at it. Why do something with your time on earth or career , if you aren't a trust fund kid, that would.make you care about spending $1,000 on a racket? Why not be a surgeon, a corporate or personal injury attorney, hedge fund manager, a business owner, so something as trivial as $1,000 is nothing? Or at least not looking for clearance rackets and getting exactly what you want, if it's not on clearance.

Also, he can sell it for a decent price.

I was shocked u recently soled a 4 year old Regna I bought new, for more than I paid for it.

For the youtube view context discussion, I used to do some entertainment law with large channels, say you want a nice $70,000 a year revenue stream for yourself, and this was 5 years ago I'm sure it's gotten worse. You would need to be pumping out videos almost everyday that got 500,000 views, each one, to sustain that revenue stream.

I received some great, and far more educated than myself, responses a while back on release windows, and I get the nuance. But again, it is baffling to me that there’s still zero timeline on when these racquets will be commercially available. I’m not a production expert by any means, but in 100% confident they’ve started coming off the line if we’re getting them anytime this summer. If it’s a US Open release, production would have to start soon. Admittedly I’m a nosy person, but I deeply need to know when this racquet is coming out.

Confirmed I've made $0 off my video hahah I was pretty worried about getting roasted since I was putting myself out there.

I did put a lot of time and effort into collecting footage of various types of hits, just wanted it to be helpful info for everyone interested.

You are a look like a good player and enjoyed watching your video quite a bit.... Also The Tennis Blueprint did a great job himself and with the college commits.

My two completely black P98’s (pro stock, 600 euro each) have a leather grip and some lead at 3 and 9 and they are 340 grams strung (with overgrip and dampener ) and they play very solid and crisp; like them more and more..

Got my hands on a snakeskin python (bit the bullet and bought one) and have been playing with it for a week or so. Been an absolute racquet holic the past few years, but as a little background, played with the kblade 98 18x20 from 08-17 through juniors and college before switching over the the blade pro 18x20. In the past year and a half have gone from the tecnifibre 305s to the ultra pro 99, ezone 98+, and most recently blade pro 100. I'd categorize myself as an aggressive baseliner with full swings and flatter shots. I prefer a higher swingweight and out of that bunch really liked the ezone 98+ the best with the added length. Blade pro 100 felt great, but after hitting with a 12 UTR I had to put 6 in of lead at 3/9/12 to beef it up a bit.

Didn't get a chance to measure the specs of the snakeskin, but from all the posts, my main concern was the lighter stock weight. It's strung up with alu power at 56/54 and felt pretty good with SW just waving it around, but still added 4in of lead at 3/9 before even hitting with it. As of right now, I wouldn't change a thing. This racquet deserves the hype it gets, at least for my game. There's easy power and spin generation without a high launch angle as compared to the ultra 99 pro. Haven't played with the PA98, but really feels like a combination between the easy power of a pure drive/ezone mixed with the direct feel and control of the blade. Racquet swings fast through the air and absorbs and redirects pace easily without feeling anemic. Was a very quick transition after the first hit and haven't had any adjustments/feel/comfort issues after 4-5 practices. I'm not the best to judge on plush-ness, but it feels close to how the ezone felt and not as harsh as the steam99/100. Still has that wilson feel that's hard to describe, but really feels like I can hit any shot I want. Slices/volleys stay nice and low with good bite and serves feel much easier between the pop/spin and quickness through the air.

This was from the first hit with the Python Have a couple other videos of hitting/point play on my instagram with the racquet for anyone interested! Most likely gonna be a switch for me once they release, depending on what the final specs look like. The snakeskin I got came with the pro labs placard still in with the "Coming July 2026" on the back, exactly how that other photo in this thread looked.

Retail is going to be 305 grams unstrung with 31.5 cm balance

Where did you get it from?

I do wonder if Serena coming back perhaps is going to see a limited Serena Blade release (there's no 104 or 102 in the lineup anymore) rushed into the July launch spot for Wimbledon which might have pushed back the Python to the US Open hardcourt season

Sounds a lot like me and my setup, I have 6in strips of lead at 3 and 9 strung with Alu Power at 51lbs and plays feels sweet. Control is great and launch angle is medium.

Is that the 98 or 100 Python?

Why ??? Wilson is going to push back the release of one of the most anticipated racquets of 2026 because Serena is coming back to play doubles?

if it's a month.. then yeah. 2-3 months i'm getting something else for now.
You're not wrong for doing that. I had to jump on the hype train myself. It's not my type of racket. At least the P98, P100 works much better for me. Both can cover a wider range of players
