Wilson Python coming in October 2026

I am waiting since a long time for the P98, ended up getting the PSX Classic I couldn’t resist getting a new frame.

Some one please confirm the June 29th release, my elbow isn’t very happy with the 340 static…

Why ??? Wilson is going to push back the release of one of the most anticipated racquets of 2026 because Serena is coming back to play doubles?
I mean Nike are obviously going to be selling a bunch of Serena stuff with her comeback, she has the new Blade paint in her comeback video - the publicity/viewership/interest for it are going to be pretty big, idk if they would "push it back" but I could see them having something lined up for Serena that the Python would be scheduled for after Wimbledon (especially if they've still been tinkering with retail specs and layup) - it's not like any big players are using the Python that it can't wait til the US Open summer where the usually launch lines like the Ultra.

Those SW numbers are very similar to the ones I have/had. I prefer the 100, maybe I need to give snakeskin 98 a try since the one I've used before was a blacked out.
I suspect there’s different runs and iterations of snakeskin as well. Let’s see how the retail plays

I do wonder if Serena coming back perhaps is going to see a limited Serena Blade release (there's no 104 or 102 in the lineup anymore) rushed into the July launch spot for Wimbledon which might have pushed back the Python to the US Open hardcourt season
I have heard reasons for delays that I cannot share. But not related to Serena at all…

Yeah i think its pretty clear theyre still playing with specs etc… and probably naming/marketing thats the main thing, i do just wonder if they would do a special serena release of the blade 102 with new paint for wimbledon

If they aim for a launch this year, production is already running. But a huge launch like this contains new bags as well as other items too.

I’d say if you can’t wait for redline to come out and don’t want to spend $600+ for the python, try the 26 Aero98 or ezone98. I’d say those are most similar. Python has a plush feel similar to the new ezone but has more pop and spin and control, imo. Ezone launch angle was weird to me because of how tight the string pattern middle is but open outside. And doesn’t feel harsh and hollow like the aero.

Literally sounds like my most wanted set up.

PA98 is harsh on the shoulder but was fun to play with. I'm now on an Ezone98 2025 and it's the best for my game. If you combine those making it fun and best for my game? Oh my.

Just sold 2 V9’s… Tried the V10 and it was fine but not too different from my v9’s.
Sleeper is the Wilson ultra. I use learner Tien pro stock but it may be worth giving the ultras a look. They can be had fairly cheap and could be a good bridge for you until the pythons release.

This is what I’ve got from the largest Wilson retailer in my country.

“Please be informed that the Python 98 / Redline 98 will arrive by the end of August 2026 to our warehouse”
Which country?
On the previous page the guy from Croatia said 29.06.

Anybody experimented with placing lead at 12 vs 3&9? I know the differences on paper, but just curious if anybody has messed around with different placements yet? I see just about everyone commenting on lead at 3&9, but I went straight to 4g at 12 (put it under the bumper and I really don't want to cut my new string job out) & I love the plow, but wonder if lowering the lead to 3&9 would make the racquet swing a little more whippy, which is what the frame is designed to do I suppose

Nah, most wanted will be the next Ezone with the 2026 Vcore 98 feel. For now the most wanted setup is the Vcore 98.

Really? I really did not like a lot of things about the 2026 VCore. Launch angle feels weird, power wasn't there. Not as forgiving as Ezone98.

Python I fear how forgiving it is and how small the sweet spot is. That's the main thing I'm afraid of.

Might have been the string setup, I'd say it's fairly safe when combing through all the tester reviews that the VC98 #1 complaint is too much power or sailing the ball long but I'd throw sailing the ball long into the category of too much power. The positive reviews normally include the launch angle is "fixed" and is now useable, more akin to an Ezone that can hit flat and spin. But, I know not everyone likes the VC98 as much as the Ezone.

However, since the number 1 complaint on the Ezone is mooshy/feel, if the threw the feel of the VC98 onto the next Ezone, pretty good combination.

I have no clue about the Python sweet spot, but I bet it is good, generous, they are trying to make a power tweener, surely they didn't ignore that general characteristic.

Funny how people are giving him a hard time. I feel like this is how a lot of the members on here play. Especially those who post in every racquet thread trying to find the latest and greatest.
LOL really? I've abstained from criticizing this guy as this should be a place for everyone to talk tennis and equipment regardless of level. There's no shame in any posters here being at his level, but at the same time I'm pretty confident that many are higher level than this. Some much, much higher. I mean you have to admit it's surprising to see a person make an influencer type of youtube video that plays at this level.

This is pretty valid on all points

Not so whippy , but very stable..

I'm the same, but I did see one of these videos where a college player, who uses the Ezone 98, wasn't impressed with the launch angle on the P98. The launch angle on the Ezone is why I like it!

Very true, if being strict with the word "higher" which means anything even slightly above, but you'd be shocked how many are barely, very barely above his level. Someone who saw this made a decent point, his review is probably more relevant to a majority of people who view it online and I will add...especially here, than if Karue reviewed the racket. Sounds strange at first, but think about it.

We don't deem to make videos about it.

Also I will 100% stand by my attack of this man over that horrendous music choice.

P98 is less forgiving than both latest Vcore or Ezone 98, at least in the stock form with 315 strung SW I hit with.

P98 did not feel that different from Aero 98 if at the same specs range in size of sweespot.

One of the reasons I enjoyed P100 more in a one off session. More forgiving while not having significantly less control.

P98 suits a much higher level player group on average than Ezone 98 if you ask me. And I don't mean Ezone 98 isn't for higher level players, but its approachability for even lower intermediates makes it playable for a much wider skill range.

Two more months delay and we are back to the title of the thread for October release.
I’m really hoping for summer!

If this is such a popular pro-players' stick nowadays, and players tend to be "hyper"sensitive to PJs, I wonder how changing this from black to red will impact the feel? I wonder if any pros will notice a difference

It will be glossy red. I bet the feel won't be too different or it will be the same unless the red paint causes the racket to be more muted somehow. I'm not a racket scientist lol
