For anyone unfamiliar this guy just won orange bowl. So this is the first time a date has been put on this by a wilson sponsored player.

So this guy won the orange bowl w/ the python?
Yep.

people might have vcore or pure aero by the time they about to release phyton, and they are looking forward to 2027 racket release and may not be interested in this.
That’s what I thought. It’s too long. Everyone interested would have to be a Wilson loyalist to not check out Vcore and Aero lines next month already.

312g is probably with lead, not before. Looks like 3-4g of lead inside the throat. Thijs just answered too quickly. Modern specs

Agreed, probably what’s on the sticker after being customized. Stock will be closer to 300g or 305g

I find it very unlikely Wilson would be dropping a big new line in october (after all the slams etc) so i think there are crossed signals and i dont think ppl should get too doomy about it - i also think there will be an earlier W Labs release like the Shift had if its coming that late

As a bit of a Wilson hater (it all went to hell after they abandoned the Pro Open), I don't hate the slow build. I think they know what they're doing. It's clear they're focusing on iterating this one through pro level feedback and looking to create a fundamentally great racquet. A good racquet is good forever, a bad racquet is bad forever. Let them bake it as long as it needs.

I agree with you. I don’t think this release will be on October. Here are recent Wilson release times:
Shift labs Feb 2023
Shift V1 July 2023
Blade V9 Feb 2024
RF01-Aug 2024
Clash V3 Jan 2025
Ultra V5 July 2025

It will likely be a Jan/Feb or July/Aug release-
At least that would be my prediction.

yeah i would guess post AO for the W Labs release and June/July as previously rumored for the retail

Maybe they do a labs release early 2026 then follow up with v1 release in Oct?

The photos of painted ones with snakeskin and red pro labs on IG are for Sebastian Korda and some other pros. Someone posted they confirmed that the snake skin will not be the final painting job not sure how much credibility they have but makes sense.
Shift pro labs paint job changes a tiny bit when they went pro labs to v1.

I think it makes a lot of sense they’re waiting. Hard not to get the impression they’re rushing this out, maybe it was even a disruption of their plans. They probably expected to rely on the Shift a little longer but had to prototype something new for their pros instead.

Updates and marketing ideas are planned years before release. Getting Python out in June-October probably is still a mega rush.

I think TPas switching to PA98 and immediately winning a title may have changed their minds about timing.

I’m very curious about this racquet. I just broke one of my Clashes today (unintentionally, but still being an angry twat) and I’m looking towards the future.

The new Blade V10 is being released in March.

New aero 98 will make the Wilson snake DOA and turn it into belts or boots. They should have cut of the aero98 release like dunlop did and yonex did with vcore. Everything after aero98 release won't sell in the 98 inch power spin category.

Ezone 98 is selling like hot dogs... I see them more and more in my club and at the stringer.

It looks like the power/control set of frames from different brands is shifting towards more power, but keeping the control.

I'm still teased to se the Pro Staff v15

I don’t think so. Peopple that already have aeros will be interested in the new aero. People that don’t have aeros or don’t want aeros will be interested in the new Wilson frame. I think the aero is ugly and the new aero is still ugly.

Great campaign.. getting your team to assist in the social blitz...
I like the all in approach as the team is helping their employer succeed..
When one exceeds.. they all succeed.. a winning combination..

Is that a pikachu inside the throat?
no its his family crest

If the Python is so close to production, I find it hard to believe Wilson would not use the’26 Australian open as a release date.

They're going all-in on the retro look. I know I'm in the minority here when I say the current rust/copper color looks so much cooler.
I actually think the copper is ok, but honestly I like the black better. But then, I'm over 50.

The retro look is geared more toward their target audience which very likely is older dudes, not teens through those in their 20s. I don't see any of those 'kids' going for pro staffs.

Hey I'm over 50 and also like black racquets! I'm just not too enthusiastic about the semi-gloss/semi-dull finish on the new one. The black Speed Legend paint job, on the other hand, is 10/10.
I also have this pet peeve where I don't like feeling any logo or lettering or anything other than smoothness on the throat and it looks like the outline of the Wilson logo is raised.

If you want an aero throat racket.. the upcoming Aero 26 is almost here.. it's better than the current line of aero according to social sources.
Probably even better then the secret snake based on the initial reviews of it..
