I mean knowing Wilson's names it may end up being called the Wilson Fidget for all we know

Is there any word on whether theretail version will be foamed

Wilson Padel does have a paddle called wilson defy, so the defyer could have something to do with that and not the racket coming out.

Do we truly believe that a racket which development takes multiple years, is named only a few months before release? For ab october release, production should have been running in may.
Funny though that they registered SPYN. That is how ChatGPT named my concept for a stringing Business last year.

I don’t think they’ve received positive feedback on any of the platforms. Word travelled way too fast for far too long and the python / snake PJ just took hold with the market.

Redline could have been good if they just landed the PJ but they went for nothing
 
considering wilson's status in industry, the name Defyer reminds me of a chinese quip (I think it's chinese): why do you rebel, your majesty？

Pretty good review of the whatever it's called. I agree with most of what he said except for the big sweet spot. Maybe it's the strings and tension I'm using with it but for me the sweet spot is quite small, but to be fair that's what gives it a predictable response off the string bed. But I find if you don't connect well the ball will go nowhere. Kind of like a Blade. It does have good spin and power when you hit it well though. Not as much as a Pure Aero 98 but it's close.

Yeah I felt the sweetspot is small too. If you're going from a control racket to a P98 the sweetspot will feel bigger. Everything about the racket will feel bigger without being excessive. If you already play with rackets with generous sweetspot like PD, PA, or something like that, the P98 sweetspot will feel small to you. At the end of the day people just have to try it.
 
Def not 50’s. Best guess is mid 60’s don’t have an RDC, the frame plays crisp but very comfortable at the same time. It’s the exact feel I like. I’ve also noticed it likes higher gauge string at not too high tension.
 
I'm curious to see if the P98's snakeskins drop in price after the release. Have a feeling they may go higher in price.

shift is spin oriented
P98 plays like an easier swing blade while a more powerful pa 98 2023 version with less spin

But they've built hype for the wrong racket. If they were to release the black paint job with "Prototype 98" on the side then it would sell out. Heck, I'd buy two immediately. BUT, if they release an all bright red candy cane with a dumb name on the side then I don't want any part of it. Never underestimate the damage a dumb name can do to a product.

It would actually be funny if a bunch of them ended up sitting on the shelf leftover. We could call it the Wilson Spinster.

I mean I like the vcore paint but I haven’t really looked into what the “redline” could look like.

Who really knows. I would say what they have out there now is fine cosmetic wise.
 
There are many many people who love the color of rf97 laver cup, beast 100 2022, radical mp 2021 and later, vcore, tfight 300 ig. I see no reason why wilson's spin line loses applause and sales just because of a color issue. I for one love collecting full red racquets especially the metal shiny kind of prince beast 2022.

They could have called it Defier... But they made that name even Shytier going with Defyer.

It doesnt.... (Lose applause and sales) Quite the opposite.

Im sure Red would outsell Snakeskin in the real world - multifold.

On TTW and on this thread I am sure the Snakeskin would outsell the Red

Snakeskin looks terrible on TV. Red is much more visible on TV.
