I would definitely post my picture but the racket is still red so nope lol.
But the blade padel racket and the blade tennis racket are both in the control lineage. Defy is not a spin padel racket -- although I guess there aren't really "spin" rackets thereThey have a blade series racket for padel too
Wilson filed these names -
Rift - 2/20/26
Wilson Defyer - 5/15/26
Redline - 10/10/2025
SPYN - 8/28/2025
Nugget - 11/4/2025
BUT the names above could be names for anything wilson has, racket, technology, etc, anything they want to trademark so someone doesn't copy.
Wilson Padel does have a paddle called wilson defy, so the defyer could have something to do with that and not the racket coming out.
I could care less what the name is, its a great playing stick!
I don’t think they’ve received positive feedback on any of the platforms. Word travelled way too fast for far too long and the python / snake PJ just took hold with the market.Do we truly believe that a racket which development takes multiple years, is named only a few months before release? For ab october release, production should have been running in may.
Funny though that they registered SPYN. That is how ChatGPT named my concept for a stringing Business last year.
Probably not. Someone told me they have been seeing nothing but no foam ones.I mean knowing Wilson's names it may end up being called the Wilson Fidget for all we know
Is there any word on whether theretail version will be foamed
Or the Sting. My half-joking suggestion - mild pivot from Python: just bring back the Wilson Cobra name from the 80s? Or even the Extra!
What about... Wilson Spin Staff? My half-joking suggestion - mild pivot from Python: just bring back the Wilson Cobra name from the 80s? Or even the Extra!
Yeah I felt the sweetspot is small too. If you're going from a control racket to a P98 the sweetspot will feel bigger. Everything about the racket will feel bigger without being excessive. If you already play with rackets with generous sweetspot like PD, PA, or something like that, the P98 sweetspot will feel small to you. At the end of the day people just have to try it.Pretty good review of the whatever it's called. I agree with most of what he said except for the big sweet spot. Maybe it's the strings and tension I'm using with it but for me the sweet spot is quite small, but to be fair that's what gives it a predictable response off the string bed. But I find if you don't connect well the ball will go nowhere. Kind of like a Blade. It does have good spin and power when you hit it well though. Not as much as a Pure Aero 98 but it's close.
Most hyped is going to end up being most over hyped I feel.
theres no way in hell that the ra will be lower than 64 65 . it was built to be a pa98/ezone.. so no shot of any 50s ra .Most hyped is going to end up being most over hyped I feel.
Been hearing the RA is in the 50s. Ewwwwww
There's different layups. Some probably will feel plush, others will feel stiff. I prefer a stiff one but I had the plush one. Most hyped is going to end up being most over hyped I feel.

Always a market for snakeskins.I'm curious to see if the P98's snakeskins drop in price after the release. Have a feeling they may go higher in price.
misspelled names are koohlWhy not just Defy, if you really wanted to go that route? I'm so confused
You mean retail?the pj is the best ever for stick to me
But it is not a red one as discussed

shift is spin orientedWilson’s marketing strategy to build this level of hype is going to sell out of rackets in the first few weeks.
So good move on their part.
I’m curious how this racket will be different from the shift and past line of Cobra that was supposed to rival the aero.
It seems like the perfect racket thenshift is spin oriented
P98 plays like an easier swing blade while a more powerful pa 98 2023 version with less spin
According to ZeroLove, is closer to PA98 26 than the 24 version. We'll see I guess. It does feel like the current modern blades with higher launch angle.shift is spin oriented

But they've built hype for the wrong racket. If they were to release the black paint job with "Prototype 98" on the side then it would sell out. Heck, I'd buy two immediately. BUT, if they release an all bright red candy cane with a dumb name on the side then I don't want any part of it. Never underestimate the damage a dumb name can do to a product.Wilson’s marketing strategy to build this level of hype is going to sell out of rackets in the first few weeks.
I mean I like the vcore paint but I haven’t really looked into what the “redline” could look like. But they've built hype for the wrong racket. It would actually be funny if a bunch of them ended up sitting on the shelf leftover. We could call it the Wilson Spinster.
Well it is the holy grail after all…I finally got it! It's the Wilson "Monty" Python!!!

There are many many people who love the color of rf97 laver cup, beast 100 2022, radical mp 2021 and later, vcore, tfight 300 ig. I see no reason why wilson's spin line loses applause and sales just because of a color issue. I for one love collecting full red racquets especially the metal shiny kind of prince beast 2022.
