What do you Wilson owners think of the KPS88.

I mainly play these topspin nadal wannabes which i take a very aggressive approach to, hitting flat forehands and backhands mainly always taking the ball on the rise.

I love to volley and use serve and volley against more developed players.

Pretty good but a more open string pattern racquet would get you more spin.

Volleys are good with the kps88 but you have to be pretty advanced.

Played with my kps88 for the first time last night. That is one heavy stick compared to the APD, but it took a few games to get it under control. My buddy was up 4-1 until I finally knew what I can do and can't do with the stick for now. Can dos: nice crisp volleys and smashes/serve, down the line shots are awesome, slices are sweet though a bit floaty but dropshots are lethal, and a very decent one handed backhand. Can't dos: my inside out forehands are going a bit long...but give me time and I can correct that. What I corrected was to be prepared early and use a little more topspin. I tried getting away from the western FH, but I guess I need it to keep the ball in. I came back to win 8-6. Love the racquet. This is my first Wilson ever and I've been playing for over 20 years.

i've heard that the kblade 93 was modeled after the prestige, so they're both kinda hefty and with similar swing weights/balance

i played with the k61 95 and it too feels hefty but more head heavy than anything.. i don't know if that really is the case on where they put the balance but that's what i felt

the 98s are much much lighter weighting in at 10.7 iirc with a much friendlier head size and swing weight.. it's pretty powerful i guess from demoing my buddy's racket, but you'd have to generate more of your own spin with the 18x20

so i guess just demo some and see which one you like

Wilson Racquets

I have not been a huge wilson fan since the wood days and after that I was into prince pro followed by pog.
I have hit with and owned a lot of racquets but my favorite now is the Wilson k pro 96 with two three gram weights at 10 and 2 for doubles and for singles I
use 8 grams on top and 9 in the butt.

I like the k95 but the kpro 96 is better for customizing.

It's all about what feels best for you, the racquet is very good as is but a little lead makes it better for me.
To some it might be a negative, it's all relative.

It can hand out and handle pace with out adding anything if that's what you mean.

i know this is a newbie question because i am one.. i have the ncode n4 111 sq in at 60lbs? does string tension make much difference for a learner?:confused:

For someone who is completely new to the game no. The lower the tension is the greater power you get, but the higher the tension the more control you get.

Hey Wilson club, I'm a 4.0 - 4.5 lefty with a good serve and forehand. I'm 59 and a good athlete. I almost bought a K six one 95 a couple of years ago, but bought a head instead. I injured my hand, playing piano, had a bit of a layoff and now I'm looking for a new stick. The head felt like a board, I hated it when I picked it up again. I like an open string pattern and at least the power of the above mentioned K 6.1 95. I have a one handed backhand
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul

I have an one hand backhand too and hit great with my Ksix 95 (18x20) dispite the high swingweight,it goes through the air smooth,no drag feel,so no problem here.
If you like open string pattern go with the 16x18 but I sugest not to string it low.
The power it has comes with a minus:the strings brakes quickly.

Akybo is exactly right about not stringing the 16x18 low. It will be wayyy too powerful.

proud Kblade 98 user. Recently added 14g of lead at 3 and 9. A lot more depth on my shots. I think it was just what I needed for my game. :) Any word on if Wilsons making BLX Blades?

I don't know yet, but I hope they do. A K Blade Tour version would be awesome! Nice mid headsize, but manageable weight in most cases. In fact, I think the K95 weighs almost .5 oz. more than the KBT.
