Wilson Shock Shield Hybrid Replacement Grip

Has anyone used this replacement grip? If so, how's it working out? I was thinking about putting it on a PAT when it arrives to dampen the feel a bit as I usually play with a more flexible frame. Also, I know it will increase the weight... but by how much? I would be replacing the stock Syntec Pro grip. Does anyone know exactly how much the Shock Shield Hybrid weighs? Or what the approximate difference between the two will be?

I have them on ALL my sticks. They are fairly firm and will add a bit to the grip size. I like them in place of leather and they add about the same amount of weight as leather does. I use a tournament tac overgrip and can still feel the bevels plenty. Luvm

I'm not a big fan of these - I had one on a DR98 and the grip actually shrunk after a week. After replacing I saw that the water from the gel had completely evaporated, leaving nothing but cyan dust behind. The shock shield grip will probably add around +8 g compared to Syntec Pro.

Another possibility would be the Head Hydrosorb Comfort grip. Also a very thick, shock absorbent grip. Both good choices.

Do you have any pics? The gel doesn't look water based. If you pricked it with a needle, it's not going to leak. The shrinkage is just normal compression from usage.

Exactly right. Only grip I use anymore even though I love leather.

Just recently bought a shock shield grip, I swapped out a Babolat syntec touch stock grip with it. It increased the racquet's overall weight by 11 grams. and increased the balance point by 2 points headlight. This is on a light weight Babolat racquet. Still very good definition on bevels, as good as any other standard synthetic grip. I have yet to test hit the racquet. I will post an update as soon as I do.
