Wilson string

A player gave me a string to string his racquet last week.
The clear package says Wilson Prototype String WC8212
I was wondering if anyone here would know just what this string is?
A yellow colored string with a twist wrapping around it.
Looks like a synthetic gut.
I gave him my usual talk that I have no idea how well string was kept or how old string is so no guarantee.
It strung up okay, no issues, player just asked me if I knew the string.
I just told him it looks like a typical syn. gut.
I vaguely remember a string like this from Wilson a good number years ago.

I have several sets of Wilson prototypes. Not sure what or if they were marketed as. I have some that are white, some yellow. I just use them for teaching.

Edit: they are not yellow, more of a real light green. None are labeled with numbers. The green ones say Wilson Pro Prototype, the white I can't read. The only word left is prototype.

Used to test a bunch of stings for Wilson and they always came in a clear package with just a test number / letter(s). I am guessing the string is about 5 years old. Last time I did any play-testing for them was about that timing. As long as it is not nat. gut it should be ok. I am guessing the string is some sort of syn gut with a wrap.. Wilson does not keep string in their line-up very long if it is not selling. It could also been a string that never made it to market. I play-tested a few that never made the cut for a number of companies.

thank you. I knew it looked familiar, just could not remember, now that I see your post it was a while back.
Amazing someone still had this string after all these years!

I was way off on my time estimate. I was thinking more like 5 years... it was closer to 10.. Seems like it was a syn gut... "special" type :).

Best part was you posted in that thread in 2009.. man we have been here a while.. :)
