wilson surge v babolat pure drive

will someone, honestly with a straight face, tell me that wilson did not copy the surge off of the pure drive. The specs are almost the same, except for the beam width and a few minor things here and there. The frames are virtually the same, so are they really the same frames?

There's quite a few threads on this topic with more detailed answers than I can give so, if you do a search you'll find the information.

Basically I think they've come from a very, very similar mold. There is, however, a distinct difference in the way they play as the Surge doesn't have the Babolat Woofer system and, perhaps because of that, the Surge seems to have more control but a slightly harsher feel.

If you actually think about it, all they share is head size and length, as do MANY racquets. Does one manufacturer influence another in tennis as in EVERY industry....of course.

Wilson may have tried to make a PD-type racquet but they are completely different in the way they play. Babolat has woofer system and Surge has the perimeter weighting system. The shape of the racquet and beam are very similar though.

tehy are the same type of racquet, same surpose to them. bo thare meant to deliver good power when you take a full swing. as with any frames in similar catagories, they feel a bit different, as manufacturers try to set their products apart from the norm. ive played with both frames, and i'd have to say they played quite similarly, but iwht a slightly different sensation at impact. I'd sya they are arent exact copies, but very close. you can tell the surge is based on a pure drive, thats the best way i can put it. try them out and see for yourself.
