We've had 7 beds that have broken almost immediately after stringing. It's the latest "Power" syn gut 16 from Wilson. This all came from 2 batches of individually packed string. We're thinking we got a bad batch. Anyone else having issues?
It snapped quickly too with my heavy racquet. We've had 7 beds that have broken almost immediately after stringing. It's the latest "Power" syn gut 16 from Wilson. This all came from 2 batches of individually packed string. We're thinking we got a bad batch. Anyone else having issues?
That’s the most plausible reason.Have you strung with other string in-between these Wilson breaks?
I'm thinking there could be a nick or chip on a clamp or the tensioner that's damaging the string as it's being installed.
Something worth five minutes with a flashlight (and a cotton ball¹) to check out.

¹—cotton ball is an old cycling trick to find wires and whatnot inside the tire causing repeated punctures. It'll snag and leave a little 'flag' of fibers when it catches thy offending detritus.
