Wilson Ultra Tour Version 2.0

i received my Ultra Tours yesterday from TW. Something strange I noticed on the frame, it’s written Wilson Ultra Tour Version 2.0 on the frame. Wanted to find out from the UT owners if it was always like that from day one?

Did they release new version of this frame already? Grommets are dark blue. After one session, no paint chips or scratches. Did Wilson fix the paint issues? Please say yes!

Version 2.0 because this is the second (consecutive) iteration of the Ultra line. Has nothing to do with the Ultra Tour in particular

Oh, thats what thinking too. UT is fairly new, Wilson couldn’t have released a new version so fast. But then again, I so badly wanted it to be a new version, thought Wilson would have fixed the paint issues with it. Oh well... wishful thinking...

Yeah... Version 1.0 was the Ultra 97. I thought it was kind of odd that they did that considering the racquets are nothing alike.

I heard from someone, that back "several years", there was a wilson.ULTRA line, and just recently " wilson", decided to bring It back..
is that what you meant?

I have two of them. One of them has W logo in plastic clear dome and the other one without it. The seller told me the other one without it is made in St Vincent, and I did look at the butt capo and it's very hard to read but I could see something like HVQ.

In my thread I showed a photo of two different versions of racquet, which I plan to send them to Ring&Roll to remove everything and remould the new pallet in Yonex shape and paint them in matte black.

There was an Wooden Ultra ,<c.1970> the the braided graphite standard size Ultra & the cited Ultra 2 mid.
Hope the paint is better.

No. The Ultra 1.0 is the previous Ultra line (from 2015 I believe). The Wilson Ultras of old are not counted.

I guess then, the v2.0 is to fix the raket cracking the the v1s where going through..
got several at the shop, w.ultra 97s "v1.0s", that are cracking/breaking at 3/9 oclock position,, will be sending these to wilson soon,,
first 2 that came in, we thought it was client, raket abuse, ,,
but after 5th, 6th, 7th,, showed up, we new it was bad raket..

but the ultra.tour.v2.0,, is good, one of my favorites of the year..

Cracking paint is definitely a step up from cracking frames! :)

On a serious note, I absolutely love mine, and I still haven't had any of the paint problems with them that you hear about on the board.

Just got a pair of new SW 104 v6 Blades in to string.
If this is happening across the lines, adding a version #,matching grommet strips might be easier.
