Wilson Ultra Tour Vs. Tecnifibre TFight DC 315 Ltd 18X20

I have been playing with Wilson Ultra Tour from last 3 months. Very happy with it. Here is my setup: 2gm of lead at 12pm, overgrip, TW dampener Kirschbaum PLII 18g at 46lb.

Love the feel. I can hit out without having to worry about hitting the ball out. Spin is decent. But I feel, the tip of the racquet is not as lively as Wilson Pro Open 2011 that I was playing previously. Adding lead at 12pm fixed that issue to an extent. Also, my arm is bit sore after 2-3 hour hitting sessions which was not the case with my pro open. That could also because I moved to full bed poly from hybrid. But still I was bit surprised as it's 63RA and I am stringing soft poly (PLII) at low tensions, 46lb.

That brings me to Tecnifibre DC 315 Ltd. They seem to share the same heritage, very similar in RA, weight, string pattern etc. Has anybody played them extensively? Which one do you like more? Does the upper hoop of Tec Ltd more lively than tour? How about comfort of Tec Ltd compared to Tour?

Detailed pros and cons will be helpful. I see mentions of both these racquets on various threads. But I didn't see any direct comparisons listing pros and cons.

If I could find the fine balance between power & maneuverability, which will give me the optimal performance, I would take the Ultra Tour because I love the feel so much. However, the TFight LTD feels quite nice and comes with more weight than the Ultra Tour for easier modification, imo.

They both are great sticks and play nicely, I would actually recommend you to demo the Phantom 93P from Prince, as well. I actually play better with it than the other two.

Great! I love the feel of Ultra Tour too. So much nicer. I will keep playing with Ultra tours, fine tuning weight and balance incrementally till I get it right.

Thanks. Will demo 93P. But, I usually gravitate towards midplus(98-100) racquets. I am surprised you are talking about midsize(93) racquet in the same breath as midplus(98-100) racquets that we are talking here! Is the sweetspot of 93P so big that it's comparable to midplus? I feel, in last couple of years there are many really good 18X20 player racquet options popped up suddenly. Can't complain about that!

That’s the weird thing about the 93P. I rotate the frames between the Ultra Tour, TFight 315 and 93P, and I don’t notice the headsize being smaller. I’ve also hit with the Volkl PB10, and though it also has a huge sweetspot, I noticed the smallish headsize.

Good luck!

All four are really good player racquets!! I have played with PB10 long time back. Haven't played with Tec315 or 93P yet. Planning to demo both.

If you don't mind, let me put you on spot here. If you are given lead tape reel( & leather grip, silicone etc., to fine tune weight/balance) and allowed to play with *only one* racquet out of those four, which one would it be?

I'll throw this recommendation: Srixon CX 2.0 Tour. I hit with a friend's demo and it reminded me of the Ultra Tour, but slightly more comfortable.

As for the 93P, I hit with a friend's demo with multi and it played like a mid; maybe not quite like a Prestige mid (e.g. PC600), but treads that line of like a fast swinging midplus as it cuts through the air like a mid, but has a generous sweetspot. PB10 feels in the same category as well.

From a stringing standpoint TW suggest 1 piece for the Ultra Tour and 2 piece for the LTD. @TW Staff care to comment why? Just curious.

I would choose the 93P because I am never too comfident about my modding skills. It really is a nice stick

Wow! That's a big praise for 93P considering it's mid! I'll definitely demo it.

Only issue for me with Prince is the grip shape. I like rectangular, Head grip shape. I got used to the Wilson grip as it's still rectangular, but not so much. But I heard prince grip is squarish... let's see...
