Wimbledon 2007 Final : A match that deserves more recognition

Nadal did not play 2017 AO like he did Wimby 18, stop  again, I dont care if you agree with me, NATURALLY you wont which is why I dont get into hypotheticals with crazed maestronians or put baskets in cases.
No offense, but the way you describe things is not how Nadal beats Fed. What works against Imhotep won't necessarily work against Fed.

No need to call me a crazed Maestronian just because I don't agree with you...

Really? Nadal can't beat 35-36 year old Fed with agressive tactics, but he would beat 2007 Fed.

Tell me again how that makes sense.

Nadal played nowhere near as aggressive as he did against Djokovic in that Wimby match. He was sticking to his usual tactics against Fed.

Difference here was that Fed was the much more aggressive player and his BH holds up better. Better serve Aswell.

And I didn't say 2018 Wimby Nadal would beat Fed at Wimby 2007. I haven't claimed either of them would win the match. I just told Michael his opinion on that hypothetical is not bad after abmk completely went nuts on him for even giving that matchup a thought.

What works for Nadal against Djokovic wouldn't neccesarily work against Fed.

What a relief bc you wouldnt know cool if it $hat on your face :D

atleast I don't fake coolness like you. (re : AO 2017 final, 11 -- what happened b/w nadal-djokovic)
you wouldn't what it is to be actually cool and not fake it even if it hit you a 100 times slap bang on your face.

I know your real face MUCH better than those who get taken in by your pretense of coolness. ;)

The more you try to sling BS at me, you'll get burnt 10 times more. so quit while you can.

You wouldnt back off someting on here involving Federer losing a match with a gun to your head, dont give me that bs. You are every bit as irrational and MORE, as you think I am. The true comedy is you can't see it.

back off ? I have no problem admitting it when its realistic.
I think fed of AO 06 would lose to djoko 11 for instance.

I think fed of AO 17 final would lose to nadal of AO 12 semi as well. I am not going to go ga ga and say he'd beat Nadal of AO 12 just because of his better BH while ignoring the inconsistency in AO 17 final and the lesser movement.

not only was Nadal in Wim 07 final better than in Wim 18 semi, his style was suited better in Wim 07 final to beat Federer than Wim 18 semi style. So that's beyond comedy from you. That's just you being in utter dreamland.

Federer served really really well in the 2007 final. I honestly think you haven't watched much tennis from before your join date...

Its quite real, which is the main reason you cant stand me :) everyone doesnt cry over tennis :p burnt? Lmao, you couldnt roast a marshmallow fool.

not the same thing. I'm saying Federer found form to get to 4-1 in the 2nd set. that he choked it. Just like Nadal choked the 4th set TB.

We differ on the 3rd set as well. I think Federer said ...."screw it. I'm not gonna go down without a fight. I'm not relinquishing my Wimbledon crowd without a fight". So knuckled down and fought harder.

OK, thanks for clarifying. You and I saw it quite differently, nothing more to say on it further. Because I don't think Federer found any form until he snatched that third set and started to really believe he had a chance to steal it while playing the fourth, one break of serve in the second set doesn't confirm to me that he found form, only to lose it a few games later. So we agree to disagree on that one and that's fine.

You dont think I realize that? I would fancy his chances bc to me, he was playing almost perfectly. If u disagree, cool story, go eat something.

What do you think Djokovic did that Federer couldn't? Or do just think that Nadal wins the Wimbleon 2018 match more times than he loses if they had to replay it?

2018 Nadal vs 2008 Nadal who was better?

Your name isnt HitmanNadal, so dont worry, he wont keep going with you :p

Not talking about this anymore. Nadal doesnt win hypothetical matches here, and ive wasted enough time on my day off over something I truly dont even care about.

I mentioned his serve as part of how he beat Nadal in 2017, not to compare how he served in 2007 Wimby final wtf.

you are cool ?

LOL. you think you can fool me ? :D

Hitman is a cool guy. so is someone like zagor.

you are just someone who fakes it.

Of course, Nadal isnt in their user name. I always admit how I feel and I give credit where its due, but its not accepted. Im more than used to it. And im sure people would rather hang with me than you so im already good with that :p I havent jabbed Fed any more than they have, or Djokovic more than they do Nadal, but you see what you want to see. You just proved my point, I make you lose your ****.

TBH the best serve Nadal could hit against Federer is the one out wide to his backhand which he did perfectly fine in 2007, not sure the serve would be the big difference maker you think. I think Nadal's relentless hitting and movement back in 2007 is a bigger match up problem for Federer than anything 2018 Nadal does.

Damn guy, chill. He said 2007 Nadal would beat 2018 Djokovic so it's not like he's dumping on Federer or anything.
Saying 18 Nadal would beat 07 Federer at Wimby is like saying 17 Fed would beat peak Djokovic at AO, in fact it's probably even worse given that Federer is still a proven top player at the AO whereas Nadal got a mug draw and then barely beat like the only top player whose game is worse suited for grass than his, at this point. It's the height of delusion, especially given what this version of Nadal looked like against 2017 Fed on slower HC much less grass due to his diminished movement. The younger versions played the game at a different speed and Nadal doesn't have old Fed's serve to save him any face. It would get ugly. You'd think that watching Fed totally unable to keep up off the ground against peak Djokovic would have removed these fantasies, but nope, here we are.

Fair enough man. He wins the hypothetical matches on clay for the most part :p

Didn't say I agreed but I like MD :D Nadal in the Wimbledon SF was probably better than any Nadal Federer beat on in 2017 tbf. I do think Federer would beat that Nadal in like 4 sets, especially under a roof.

more delusions. When people actually see you true face, they'd probably wish they never even met you.

I have a couple of friends in real life who are Nadal fans, who are actually cool and aren't "cool" pretenders like you.

I didn't lose anything. I was just laughing at your delusions and then your pathetic attempts to divert with other BS, like wings, beer, cool and all that sort of stuff. :D

See and I can respect that opinion perfectly. You are a great Fed fan. These maestronians though....

yeah, we disagree here.

yeah, we disagree here.

And that is fine.

You know I consider you one of the best tennis analysts on these boards, and regardless of what others may say, you contribute in a very good way. I often learn a lot from your statistical analysis, which helps me see things or even clarifies uncertainties at times.

You have done the right thing. Feel free to add some insulting remarks. I suggest "His (you can say his as I declared myself to be male) astounding ignorance can not remain unchallenged".
@Raining hopes
@ABCD

I love it.

You guys are healing this forum of all the damage done by Serena-Gate (or Ramos-Gate if you like) with your awesome Frenemy-Mance.

Better than Djokerer Doubles at the Laver.

And way to SELF-IDENTIFY as a male @ABCD . That's not an easy thing to do today.
