My take for the QFs:

Safina vs Lisicki
Lisicki has made a big breakthrough. She still makes quite a few DFs and goes for too much at times, but she's loose and confident. She should pose a problem for Safina. Safina does find ways to winning, even if it is downright ugly. Since this is NOT a final, Safina's nerves should hold up. Safina in 3.

Venus vs Radwanska
Radwanska has gotten out of a miserable funk to make the QFs. Unfortunately, her run ends here. Radwanska's best hope is to jump on Venus' 2nd serve and that Venus goes on a brain fart while Radwanska makes a surge. Basically, hope Venus does all the work for her. I don't see it happening as Radwanska has nothing that Venus fears. Radwanska's a great retriever, but Venus is a deadly killer and has the crowd on her side. Venus in 2.

Dementieva vs Schiavone
The head-to-head is 4-4 and many of their matches have been tight 3 setters. Dementieva appears to be in form. Schiavone is probably surprised to be in the QFs as would most casual tennis fans. Comes down to experience and Elena "should" pull through. Dementieva in 3.

Serena vs Azarenka
The one matchup that has played out. Serena has dusted opponents off with ease. Azarenka's had 2 difficult matches, but finished them off. Azarenka is not intimidated by Serena nor the crowd for that matter. Serena has that deadly serve, but is lately an offensive-minded player as her movement is still poor on defense. If Azarenka can make Serena move from side-to-side (ala Miami) this match is hers to win or lose. Azarenka in 3.

Safina vs Lisicki

I think Lisicki can pull off another upset
and take Safina out in two sets.

Venus vs Radwanska

This is the biggest miss match of the four matches
Venus will squash Radwanska in straight sets.

Dementieva vs Schiavone

This will be a lot closer than a lot of people think
but Dementieva should pull through in three sets.

Serena vs Azarenka

Azarenka in three sets. I think Serena will be exposed a bit today
she's nowhere near her sister on this surface.

Lisicki up 2-1 over Safina and serving at 40-30

Lisicki is a talented all-court player... she know when to approach the net. In this game she's won two points hitting opportunity ball volleys.

Liscki is a much better player than Safina in my opinion
Safina is a lot stronger though and she has more power in the shots.

Wow Lisicki is hitting some great shots in this tie brake
this girl looks like the real deal right now. She's playing great.

Dnarn that was a sitter for Lis. Set points wasted.

I SAW THAT DF COMING. Yu can trust Safina to DF on critical points like this.

lisicki wins set one in TB

double fault gives the German the first set.

You could see it coming and Safina gets a warning for racket abuse.

Lisicki takes set one 7-6 (5)

Amazing... her serve is not huge, like it usually is, today... and she still took the first set from Safina.

Safina is being out played by a unknown at the moment
Lisicki had never won a match on grass before coming here
and she's just aced her three times in the first game.

She was a big underdog against Kuznetsova, Wozanachi
and she's a big underdog today too. She's unseeded
and had never played on grass before so she's unknown.

I disagree... thus far in her career, she's beaten at least 4 top 10 players... 3 of which were former number ones. If she beats Safina, it will be her biggest win to date.

Nobody picked her to get this far. She didn't even make this poll

she's never been this far in a Grand Slam and she was unknown before she she went to Wimbledon.

She's been the underdog in at least four of her matches.

Be nice to see an Azarenka vs Lisicki final
seems unlikely though. Will Lisicki have to play Venus if she wins here?

I'm not saying she's not the underdog... but she's far from being an unknown. She won the Charleston title earlier this year completely wiping the floor with Wozniacki in the final. She beat Lindsey Davenport in Fed Cup.

Apparently, she defeated Dinara (seeded #16) at the AO in 2008, as a qualifier.
