McEnroe really needs to get with the times, going on about how it was too harsh and saying Rafa wasnt given enough warning. Give me a break, Nadal knows the rules and knew he was in trouble and was trying to prolong the point. Im glad he got punished for it.

Incorrect? Who has lost to Kohlschreiber, Rosol, Darcis, Brown all in the first couple of rounds on grass since 2011?

You think Djokovic, Murray, Federer are more likely to lose before the quarters than Nadal? Get out of here.

another, ultimately meaningless distinction from a Nadal-hater

Federer has lost early at Wimbledon more times than Nadal has. Fact.

Your opinion counts for nothing given that was ages ago (like 11 years ago+). Last year was an anomaly as Federer was also getting straight setted by Brands and Delbonis at the time. Nadal is more likely to lose before the quarters (I'm not saying he will but the chances are greater) than Federer and WAY more likely to lose then Murray and Djokovic.

It's a pity Federer will never play this Nadal on this surface. Once they meet in the SF the grass will be worn out as hell and Nadal will have played himself into form.

It is 25 seconds for the slams, 20 seconds for ATP tournaments, as far as I'm aware...?

Other way around. 20 seconds in ITF events. Nadal knows this but McEnroe jumps to his defence. Not surprising, given Mac's own disregard for rules.

Really? My mistake.

As for McEnroe, he'll do whatever to make his own voice heard. Arrogant tw@t.

Heaven forbid Nadal actually be on-form and playing well when he plays Federer. ;) But yeah, it would be cool to see them play on the lower-bouncing stuff. I suspect it would be similar to their WTF meetings though.

Just as I said earlier, I've seen this match before:

has anyone heard Klizan's normal speaking voice from an interview etc?

his grunts sound very distinctive...

Klizan put forth a GREAT effort today, but Nadal sharp especially in the 4th set, some of his play and counters were vicious.

Federer lost in the first round three times. No excuses.

Are you really that dense? I didn't think so, but apparently so.
This is what's being discussed:

That's beacuse he has the highest % chance of being upset from the top players.

So whatever Fed, Murray, Djoko and Rafa did when they weren't top players is completely irrelevant in this context.

Capiche?

p.s. Congrats to Rafa. He's my favorite to win it all as of now. He doesn't look as upset prone as he has in recent years.

Good match from Nadal for the most part. Klizan is a big hitter and this was a good win for him. Don't think Rosol will bring as much to the table but you never know.
