Nadal was playing well today, Klizan was firing in the first 2 sets but then went away. Rosol needed 5 sets and he was in GOD mode last time, no chance he wins this time if Rafa plays the same as today.

Thank god Nadal won.

Got a little worried he was tanking to duck Rosol. Can't wait to see Rosol tapping the ground with his racquet during Nadal's service games.

Wonder how long his Rosolitis/Rosolosis will last this time around.

I can just see where this match is going. If the likely outcome (being a relatively straight forward Nadal win) happens, the VB will be out in force to discredit Rosol's win from 2012. I'd then tell them to be humble like Nadal but he's already discredited Rosol's win.

What a guy!

But the knee is 100% cured and hasn't been a factor in over a year now , didn't you know ?

I know. But can you explain why he always avoided bending the knees very low, in his match against Klizan, when he was forced to move forward a bit before hitting a BH? IMO it was so obvious that he avoided bending the knee, with just push-slicing those short balls on his BH side...

Nadal's current ranking is half what it was when they met here two years ago, and Rosol's ranking is almost half what his ranking was at the same time.

Nadal can change that since Rosol has a lot of wimby points to defend during their match.

If this were a 4th round/quarters encounter, I would say Nadal in 3 easy sets.

Given it is still 2nd round, and the grass will be still in almost in perfect condition, I guess Rosol will take a set.

Nadal in 4 is my pick.

Is he ? Wouldn't know since he is on my ignore list.

Of course you are. But the real fun is when the harem lines up here to make objective poasts

Please kindly refrain from talking to me -- I find it highly inappropriate.

All I can say is that Rafa can see this match a mile away now. He'll be primed and ready like he is for a final. He won't be taken by surprise. I think that will give him a big advantage of last time. He might even lose in the 3rd round if he gets by Rosol because he'll be so deflated. If Rosol can beat a focused, healthy and gritty Nadal, then hell, hats off to the guy.

He wasn't surprised the last time either, he just couldn't walk because of a knee injury.

Boy: "Wolf!!!!!!!"

Yes, I wonder if Rosol will try his changeover assault&battery tactics on a walking Nadal this week.

My prediction is that Nadal will be gracious in his straight-set win this week with just a single break per set.

Rosol is injured and off his peak and doesn't stand a chance this time.
If he was healthy, I'd be very very afraid for Nadal.

Rafael Nadal 'unfazed' by Lukas Rosol says coach Toni Nadal

By Lawrence Barretto
BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal is unfazed by his second-round match at Wimbledon which pits him against the man who beat him in 2012, says his coach and uncle Toni Nadal.
The Spaniard lost a five-set thriller to Lukas Rosol, who was ranked 100 in the world, at the same stage of the tournament at the All England Club.
The world number one, 28, will be in action against Rosol on Thursday.
"That defeat cannot affect the match," said uncle Toni. "I think Rafa is better now than he was in 2012."

Uncle Toni believes Nadal, who spent eight months out with a knee injury following the defeat by Rosol, is in better shape this year than he has been for two years for the rematch against the Czech.

"It's a different Rafa Nadal than two years ago," he said. "A better Rafa Nadal. In 2012, he had many problems when he arrived at Wimbledon.
"Rafa struggled in every practice, he couldn't go down on his knees, which is important on grass, and his mentality was not good enough for that reason.

"But now he has good movement and not much pain. He is the number one in the world and that should give him some confidence.
"Of course, Rafa can lose because Rosol is a good player and he has a good serve, but I hope Rafa is good enough to beat him."

Rosol speaks about Rafa

Rosol “It’s Nadal who has to win, I have nothing to lose. I can create another surprise. I want to impose my style on him. The shorter the rallies, the better for me. Nadal is the king of clay. But he is more vulnerable on other surfaces, especially grass. If you want to beat one of the big stars at a Grand Slam, the early rounds are the best…
When we see each other, we say hello. That’s all but I don’t have any problems with him.”

My gut says Nadal in 3.

But, if Rasol takes either 1st or 2nd set, watch out. Could be a long day for Rafa in the office

Hehe, the hype for this match is too funny.
Stepanek (as we saw) and Muller (as we will see) are both tougher 2nd round opponents. This match will most likely be straights for Rafa, possibly 4.

Then again, Stakhovsky proved to be a better player for 2nd year running. So, you never know:neutral:
