well, nevertheless, the same set of ITF rules states very clearly that the umpire has leeway to interpret the rules.

"Make the first determination on all Questions of Law arising during the match, subject to the right of a player to appeal to the ITF Supervisor/Referee"

http://www.itftennis.com/media/107082/107082.pdf

Where is the question of law in buttpicking your way to way past the permissible time limit, on every point? That's not even a judgment call. It's umpires failing to do their duty because they're scared or incapable.

You ever played sports before? I don't think you have. Underwear crawls up your butt when you sweat. If you prefer having it up there, than I suggest you wear thongs for a living. Stop staring at Nadal's

I didn't know Nadal was the only player that sweat and had a butt ;)

This is what you said: "you can say for example, that just as we regard Richard Krajicek's single match win against Sampras at Wimbledon as a fluke, we can regard Rosol's single match win against Nadal at wimbledon as a fluke. i will agree with that statement."

if you can't see that i was using that as an example, and not actually making a statement, then so be it.

It IS fact that he plays slowly in between points, and tries to disrupt his opponent by doing this. Note it tends to be the lower ranked opponents he plays. There are examples of it in this match, and also the last time they played.

Is it fact that he admits to it? No.

Mutually exclusive?

This is an opinion....

Nadal said he won the match probably due to one point in the second set.

"The difference maybe is one point," the two-time champion said. "Maybe if I lose that set point in the second set, if that forehand down the line went out, maybe (I) will be here with a loss.

"But that's the sport. That forehand was a perfect forehand for that moment."

The_Order should read this and realize 2012 wasn't a fluke.

Just read this entire thread. So funny!!!! The emotions Nadal seems to bring out of people, simply amazing. I still can't believe a second round match has a thread of over 70 pages. :):)

Well, his nose certainly isn't bigger than Federer's, but he has to tug at that, too ;)

hahahaha

It's like he has a mental checklist or something

"Towel - check. Butt - check. Left hair - check. Right hair - check. Nose - check. Did I do the butt? Better do it again just in case... Now bounce, bounce, bounce - check. Did I do the nose...?"

No wonder it takes him ages to serve.

What did he mean? He hurt his arm during the match?
Is this like a fake account, like that pseudoFed?

It's a real account, and he didn't hurt his arm (the upper tweet is the more recent one), he was just trolling

I bet he'll read this thread for a laugh.

I missed the match too. Even though I really wanted to wake up for it. I knew it would be competitive.

Nadal won that 2nd set 8-6 in the tiebreaker. Impressive and very clutch.

Missed the match. Sorry for those who thought Rosol would beat Nadal again. Thank you for watching another Nadal match.

Ditto, missed the match, and I assume it's heartbreaking butthurt for Nadal haters! Actually, I've missed the tournament so far, can't wait to see Nadal play on grass clay!

Anyway, back to the topic. Today's match showed that 2012 absolutely wasn't a fluke and that Rosol can play pretty damn well on fast grass when he's clicking. Nadal faced a set point to go down 2 sets to love. The intense pressure and stress was there for ALL of Nadal's fans. It's easy enough to poke fun at Rosol now AFTER the match but nobody was laughing during that second set tiebreaker. Rosol going up 2 sets would've made Nadal even more nervous and defensive and extreme panic would've set in the Nadal camp. It's easier to swing freely when you're in the lead. Nadal managed to grab that crucial second set tiebreaker while Rosol's game dipped after missing his chance.
Anyway, good match today. Exciting stuff. :)

Disregard that.

Just watched the match.Rosol double faulted the set away. Pretty anti-climatic. Some crazy points though.

Rosol didn't please all the Nadal haters in this match. These Nadal haters have to rely on Rosol to take out Nadal so their hero can finally win a slam. What a pathetic bunch, they probably don't even follow Rosol's match when he is not playing Nadal.

Fluke: Djokovic's go-for-broke RoS past Federerrr at Match point in USO 11 semi.

But I won't call his victory a fluke. As even if he didn't hit such a risky shot, the serve was within his reach to hit a normal return, and he would have still had a fair chance to bag the point.

I still don't know what you are accusing him of. I'm assuming you mean that he plays slower to purposely disrupt his opponent. This is not a fact.... That is your opinion. Just because it is shared by many people, a high number of which hate nadal, does not make it a fact.

actually, it is a fact. I timed him time and time again. He took 55 seconds one time today. And 35 down 0-30 followed by 32 at 15-40 and 33 at 30-40 without any of the preceding points being long points

I have Nadal as the favorite on this side of the draw after watching that match. His movement was insane and the forehand is looking huge. His serve isn't as good as it was during this event back in 2010 though.

"Probably"? :D
Of course they don't.

Man, you need to find something better to do with your time :)

I think the other poster meant it's not a fact WHY he takes long. It's pure speculation on your part. And of course you're doing your best to come up with the explanation that would make him look bad.

Yep. He somehow only seems to focus when he plays Rafa lol. Mind you, Rafa had that match pretty much under control in the fourth set in 2012.

That’s understandable – winning RG is probably the toughest accomplishment in tennis, so the field knows that the King is most vulnerable with injuries in the weeks that follow the event. Fortunately, as long as Nadal is able to walk, he can still dismiss the journeymen, even if he just spins in the serve to start a point on grass.
