In fairness to Saviano, I don't think there was any plan B, C, etc. for what Kvitova brought today. She just flat out got overwhelmed by PK's power.

Hopefully this is a wakeup call for Genie. The canned responses in interviews, the supposed focus and self-confidence, the notion that she has weapons, it's all being exposed as an illusion.
She needs actual substance in her game and personality. She certainly has the physical tools to win multiple slams, but not in her current state.

People are talking about Bouchard more than Halep. I don't know why. Halep is a better player and would have been in the final had she not been injured against Bouchard.
Bouchard was naive. She stood up on the baseline and had to hit the ball on the half-volley constantly because Kvitova's returns were so good. She should have taken half a step back and tried to get into some rallies, make Petra hit a few shots, maybe miss a few, and hope her level dropped.
Brilliant from Kvitova, she is such a top player with such a top game, can't believe it's taken her three years to win another slam, but she's gone away and toughened up mentally. Well played Petra you were brilliant!!

No, but I think we can all agree this is one stupid, reactive, typical of TT post. She made a final in only her 7th Grand Slam played. She got destroyed by a player who shows her qualities once every eon, but I'm still proud nonetheless.

Exactly. Come on people. How often do you see Kvitova do that? Last time was 2011. No excuses for such a bad loss, but Kvitova was beating anyone playing like she did today. That was something else to behold.

the match was good in context of petra...genie just wasn't ready.But in the end, though the match was poor, the result I'm fine with. A grass-loving player won Wimbledon. It is fitting.

Petra was certainly on her A+ game today, but any of the other power players, on their A/A+ game, would have competed.
By other power players, I mean Serena, Vika, and Maria.
She's pretty, he doesn't like her and she just lost. Which by the rules of internet forums makes her a <insert whatever you like>.

Genie has some time to go before she wins a major final. Unless she gets Aga or similar player in the final.
This drubbing was maybe deserved. In the court side and post match interviews after the SF, I had a feeling that Bouchard was a bit too smug: No consideration for the injuries of Halep and talking down the next opponent a past Wimbledon winner. As good a talent as she is, this beat down is only likely to help her in the long run.

And I know it's a cliche, but Kvitova would've beaten anyone today (except maybe Serena playing well). Genie will have other chances, but today that serve on grass was too much.
And really only Serena has a serve as good as Kvitova on grass. Genie had some luck of the draw to get here, but Kvitova was probably the worst possible match up for her in the final. She wasn't going to handle the serve and the power and 99% of other women wouldn't be able to either.
Genie will still end up as a contender because Serena is old, and she's come close to beating Sharapova who doesn't even have a serve like Kvitova's when it's on. And neither does Azarenka. Plus, Kvitova won't play like this in every tournament.
Needless to say, Genie can beat all the other lower ranked women because she will use her natural aggressive game to rush her opponent and jump on weaker serves.
I understand that Genie is not truly a power player or the greatest mover, but she has a passable serve for the womens game, the right attitude, and her power comes from her timing of the ball. All I'm saying is that just because she can't bomb serves and groundstrokes like Kvitova and some others does not mean that she's Wozniacki either.

Compared to last year where Lisicki just choked the match away, Genie wasn't even given a chance here. How can you not see it especially after consecutive one-way finals? This was 100% Kvitova and she's one of the players who always have the match in their racquet. When a player like that is on, it's impossible to win.
She is only 20. I thought she was 22, Halep's age, but she is even younger, she will get stronger no doubt.
