Murray in 3. Raonic was great today and deserved it but this is not a favorable match-up. Murray is a defensive genius and I doubt he mentally brainfarts on his service games like Fed did.

Either will be a worthy champion but I'm going Murray.

Murray. Raonic has to deal with those first final nerves. and Milos can't afford nerves as he relies on holding serve.

Queens Final also showed me stuff. I feel over 5 sets Murray will just have too much, get too may balls back etc.

However it should not be forgotten Milos was controlling their AO SF until his injury this year.

40% chance of rain on Sunday. I'm thinking a a closed roof will aid the Raonic serve and maybe allow him to hit a little more crisply.

Well impressed with Raonic but his return game is just too weak to win 3 sets against Murray. He certainly can win a set or two but he will need some divine help to win the third. He needs to ensure two things - 1. Win TB set(s) in any situation. He can't afford those to lose. 2. Finish match in four sets. He will be having hard time breaking Murray's serve in fifth, also he has already played two five setters. Another five setter against much fitter and fresher opponent means loss.

I think Murray will win in 4 but if Raonic plays like he did for the first set and a half in their Queens final or like he did in the 5th set today it could be a very tight contest.

@Mainad: Have you recovered from the shock that Andy's finally got a non Fedovic opponent in a GS final? :p

I always thought Murray would win this year. Now that he's playing Raonic I'm even more convinced. Murray in 3 or 4.

the gods have thus far ignored my offerings of tacos and whiskey and allowed murray to reach the final. undaunted, i will entreat them again this evening at dinner time.

if, in their mighty and unquestionable wisdom . . . if they refuse me . . . and murray raises that cherished silver gilt cup in triumph . . .

i only hope they grant me the fortitude to endure his insufferable barrage of "come ons" whenever milos makes a routine error or he tries in that disingenuous way of his to get the crowd behind him even more.

i am resolute.

It's completely in Milos' hands.

No seriously. If he serves lights out he can out tiebreak Murray and smash second serves. Unfortunately if he has one bad game a set it is lights out.

Heart Milos in 4, gut Murray in 4.

Murray in 4.

I suspect Raonic to fight hard but he will lack the experience and concentration to deal with the pressure of a Wimbledon final.

Plus Murray is playing in top form!

:D

For this all UK Final, Murray the Flying Scotsman has the advantage, The Maple Leaf Canuck Raonic who is a citizen of the England as well has chances, yet Murray is proved higher on the big stage, currently, not a long time ago. Murray handles fast serves well, yet Raonic has McEnroe to plan strategy for him. I'm working sunday so I'll catch the results on CNN, UPI or API wires.

Cheers

Finally, Murray gets to play a major final against someone other than the world number one.
Federer wasn't the No. 1 in 2008 USO and Wimbledon 2012, but that's a pretty good point.

Let's put it this way: Murray finally gets to play a major final where he can be considered the favourite.

Raonic in 5. This is his time!! Dream final happened, just like queens!! xD
Wow You are in cloud 9 atm
Your 2 favourites dominating the grass season
You won't be sad if Murray lose another gs final? I think he needs it more and Raonic has plenty chances in the future

Revenge for Queens and AO...Raonic gets a lead and holds on to it this time.

You know, iv sat trying to think of a reply to this question for like 5mins and i keep typing and deleting stuff and you're right. I would be sad that Murray did not win yet another slam final but the fact he lost the other two has put me in an awkward position. I do really want Raonic to take it this year but not at the mental and social impact of Andy losing.

Thats the thing about having both players you support in the final. You win either way but you also lose either way. However ill try and get rid of that mindset and just enjoy the match on sunday. Im just happy that both have made the final at both Queens and Wimbledon, shows you who the grass dominant players are!

It is a Wimbledon final, but I wonder how many will take an active interest in this match.
I think most people are just looking forward to NA HC swing with the Olympics. Especially for me with Djokovics poor Wimbledon campaign. Just want to see Novak back on court at the Rogers cup in a couple of weeks

I wouldn't mind Raonic winning or Murray winning. Would be good to have a new slam winner and while I'm not a fan of Raonic's style and game I definitely have a lot of admiration for how much work he has put in to maximize his ability. Lots of respect for guys who are like that and if some of the other players (cough kyrgios) had that mentality it would make a huge difference.

Murray does deserve to have the non Fedovic slam opponent and take advantage and maybe if he wins that gives him the confidence to think that he can reach the #1 ranking and stand up to Novak by having a solid NA American summer and winning USO because I think it is a possibility now. That would make tennis a little more intriguing from my perspective at least.

That being said I'm not watching the match lol.

He is still going to be like 5,000 points behind Djokovic...
I know, it would be exciting though :). Of course, if your a Djoko-fan you want the gap to be as big as possible. For anyone else it would be exciting to see someone challenging him :). And Murray wants to feel that nr 1 spot sooooo much...

I want Djokovic to be nr 1. But its not the most important thing. Winning slams is

I like this match-up. Big server against great returner. Two completely different styles. It's more interesting to me than a Djokovic-Murray match. I think this one could go either way. I would give Murray the slight edge. I hope it's a tight contest. People who think Murray will win in straights are off I think. Look at their recent Queens match and their AO 2016 match. Both were competitive.

Exactly and the Raonic win over Fed in Brisbane was a sign of things to come. I like Raonic on this surface in this match. He'll be harder for Murray to break. Murray's 2nd serve on the other hand (even though improved some) may be the ticket for Milosh to get some breaks. This is a better surface for Murray than Australia by a touch, but Raonic has done well on grass too. Raonic had Murray in Australia, but then had an injury and he's now finally getting back into form. Raonic won against a heavily pro-Federer crowd today. If he gets a lot of first serves in play against Murray he should be able to dominate in front of a heavily pro-Murray crowd. I like his chances a lot.:D
