I don't get the hate towards MIlos game. I can see people not liking him as a person, but his tennis game is what we've been dying to see since Sampras prime. Big serves (cuz chicks dig the long ball), attacking the net, crisp CC volleys, sweet soft drop volleys, big forehands from the baseline.

We've had to put up with 6 years of baseline counterpunchers dominating tennis and now we have a chance to see an all-court attacker in the final and people dis his game.

Sadly, defense tends to win championships and so I suspect Murray pulls this out. But I'd love to see Raonic bring all the firepower out and dominate with solid offensive tennis.

But in all honesty, I would be very happy if MILOS wins too.

Here is hoping for 5 sets. :)

Raonic: 1st ever Slam final for a Canadian man. 1st time male Slam finalist at Wimbledon since Berdych in 2010. 1st time male Slam finalist anywhere since Cilic and Nishikori at 2014 US Open.

Murray: 3rd time finalist at Wimbledon after 2012 and 2013. 3rd consecutive Slam final in 2016 after Australian Open and Roland Garros. 11th Slam final overall.

Murray in 3 or 4. Hoping Milos wins his first but Murray has looked really good this fortnight and will be insanely hungry.

Murray in 3.
Most pointless tennis match in history, I may as well go out and play Murray, the all England club have rigged this from the draw.

They want their man to win, which he will - easily.

I'm looking forward to watching this final with a bottle of Smirnoff Ice, a big pack of crisps and being completely stress free throughout. Isn't it great that us Nole fans can do that for once? :)
Last time that happened, I would have to go back to the 2014 US Open final. Just chilling and watching the sympathetic Nishi and neighbor Marin.

40% chance of rain on Sunday. I'm thinking a a closed roof will aid the Raonic serve and maybe allow him to hit a little more crisply.
Actually Raonic's serve will be good regardless. And the crowd cheers for Murray will be even louder.

The only thing Raonic wins is 'hotter arm candy' - his nerves will be shot.

Murray, something like 62 75 63.

Exactly and the Raonic win over Fed in Brisbane was a sign of things to come. I like Raonic on this surface in this match. He'll be harder for Murray to break. Murray's 2nd serve on the other hand (even though improved some) may be the ticket for Milosh to get some breaks. This is a better surface for Murray than Australia by a touch, but Raonic has done well on grass too. Raonic had Murray in Australia, but then had an injury and he's now finally getting back into form. Raonic won against a heavily pro-Federer crowd today. If he gets a lot of first serves in play against Murray he should be able to dominate in front of a heavily pro-Murray crowd. I like his chances a lot.:D
Grass is the most favourable surface for Raonic, and it's not close in my opinion. It's fast enough for Raonic to attack the net succesfully, but slow enough to not get his movement issues massively exposed. Also, low bouncing, so he can slice a bit, and drop volley's don't sit up. Passing is also harder at lower bouncing surfaces. I don't think Raonic has a shot at the USO for example.

I think Murray got this in either 3 or 4 sets.

But regardless, though disappointed over Federer, either outcome of the final is great. For Murray, a win just might make give his mental game that added oomph needed to seriously rival Djokovic. He would also be in an excellent position to win multiple slams and make the final of all 4 slams for the first time in his career. And how awesome it would be for Raonic to beat both Federer and Murray to win Wimbledon--something Djokovic has never done.

I would like to see Raonic win. Not because I am a fan, but because, as I stated before, I think organizers slighted Djokovic, and yes, tried to give him unfavorable court and times due to weather. So, nothing against Murray, I just would like the organizers to know it was all in vain. Yes, I might be slightly nuts.

Raonic has a realistic chance of winning. It is clear he truly believes he can win against the Big Boys. And Murray is the best one to play in a major final because he does not impose himself like Fed, Djokovic or Nadal does.

Fed would have had almost 0% chance of winning had he won today. If Raonic can serve hot, he can beat Murray. He has the big game to take out Murray.

Nothing that has not seen before in other grand slams, there as been many who can go on about unfavourable courts, get over it.
Raonic could win if he shuts Murray out on his service games, but it's over five sets, the edge has to go to Murray here

The pusher vs the clumsy bugger. Guess I'll take Raonic. Watching Murray play is like watching paint dry

Murray will probably win though

Murray hasn't beaten Federer in ages. Roger's chances would have been great.
Normally yes. But after limping across the finish line, Fed would have had almost nothing left physically for the finals.

Well, clearly I should get over it. I did say that I am kind of holding unhealthy grudge, right? Still, I was hoping Federer would win, but now I would like Raonic to win, but Murray is a clear favorite.

Injury or not Raonic got wasted by Djokovic on hard courts and Murray on clay.

Murray's best hard court surface is Australia type and its rather amazing how he won the US Open in 2012, but both Djokovic and Murray are not strong on North American hard courts. Barron's best surface is grass its just he's had a lot of competition. I'm not sure, but Australian hard courts rather than grass may be best for Raonic. Queens and Auz have Raonic very close to Murray. Murray seems to have more focus under Lendl and I supppose that will carry him through, but Raonic has McEnroe and that may trump Lendl.

Anyone else see Raonic's interview after his match with Fed? After the Queen's final he told Murray he hoped to get a rematch in the Wimby final. He wants REVENGE! :p:eek:

Here is the interview:

Let's just get it over with and give Murray his rigged title so we can move on to hardcourts. The ONLY exciting time of the season anymore.

NOT CLAY? LOL

Its going to be an interesting run up through the US Open. Djokovic will be there, but its not his best hard court surface. Ditto for Murray. Great surface for Fed. Raonic and Goffin may be exceptionally dangerous. Nadal may have a spark of life especially if his wrist comes back 100% and he hits more of those 213 kph serves he was flashing around on clay. And Cilic will be deadly. Thiem lol will be in over his head a bit, but Berdy did him a favor knocking him back down to 9. Thiem will be better off hitting the likes of Injurkori, Wawrinka, Berdych, and Raonic. 5-8 will be drawing Cilic, Goffin, Tsonga, and Thiem of course. Looks like a lot of fun for Raonic as he has a good shot of making 3 in the world this year. Thiem could stumble into 4 for WTF if Fed and Rafa don't get back on track fully.

With Vesely, Pouille, and Zverev doing a lot of good things on grass, plus Tomic and Kyrgios, you're going to have a lot of players to get excited about in the next few months.;) The 90's power of the Youthquake.

I think they made the draw beneficial to Murray for sure

I hope we can get one more Nadal resurgence and some great nole/nadal matches. I hate watching Murray play
LOL. You are nuts. Schedule yes. Draw is random unless you are into cold balls theory.

Djokovic has 2 US Open titles and 3 other finals and 3 Canadian Masters titles. Murray has 1 US Open title and 1 other final, 3 Canadian Masters titles and 2 Cincinnati titles. I think that proves they are both reasonably strong on North American hardcourts.

I agree Mainad. Murray will be very tough to beat in the NA hard court swing. More so if he wins Wimbledon again with Lendl back. Could be some epic Djoko v Murray clashes. Plus the Olympics not far away either. I hope nadal comes back well too, get a feeling he will!
