The McEnroes can show a little bias but I will say, for the most part, they do better with keeping their biases aside than Cahill has done this tournament. Evert also goes over the top with Serena too. BG is a Rafa fan but he is so respectful and I love his attitude, and his insight. I like Fowler too and I never got the impression he didn't like Federer. Out of all of them, he seems the most neutral.

Evert is definitely Serena fangirl #1, lol. It would be funny if she wasn't a commentator.

History in the making, Alpha.

When asked about each other, I was interested in this very technical comments from Federer:-

Federer on Djokovic:

"If I think of Novak, one thing that jumps out at me, is his jump back and to the left.
"It's how he's able to defend on that side, which I think has won him numerous matches and trophies.
"He does that better than anybody. Nobody else really has it as consistent and good as he has."

Deeper analysis than you usually get in these pre-match interviews.
I love when Federer talks technical.

I just realised that whoever beat Nishikori in the past four majors went on to win the title. Seems like Novak's chances have decreased that little bit more. :(

We all know what Wilander thinks. Worships the ground Djokovic walks on. But, I think do think Wilander predicted Nole 2011 pretty accurately, he said I think if he gets his head straight nobody can stop him. Whatever happens, happens.

Keep the faith buddy. Novak won't lose. No matter what happens and no matter how Fed plays and not matter what the odds (Nishi be damned.).

Great champions rise to the occasion and expect Novak to make a statement tomorrow.

Federer plays ugly matches against djokovic. I am trying to remember the last time he played a match where he wasn’t crapping his shorts in the match.

Fed's confidence is all time after that win, you think he fears joker more than beast Nadal?
I don't think Fed fears anyone but the fans on this board are going completely bonkers oscillating between "hey no prob, Fed in 3 bagels, who's Djokovic? 8-B" and "omg, omg Fed is OLD and he's getting older by the minute " + "quick, quick who beat whom in the last slams, yes yes, the winner beat that guy, Fed beat him too, he's safe now, right, RIGHT? "
Pro players are not CHICKENS people, so stop acting like you are and calm down :-D:laughing::cool:
Ok after this little digression, let me answer your question: the 2 best active grass court players are not "beast" Nadal and Fed, they are Fed and Djoko, that is why they have 12 W titles between the 2 of them.
Anything could happen in that final, so enjoy the ride and don't worry so much about the outcome ;)

Federer in 4. What I saw from the semifinal was not very good tennis, just good endurance from Nole. Federer will find angles and force Novak to play shorter, more skillful points.

Also people have to drop this sudden narrative about Djokovic having been average this tournament. What's going on?
.
What's going on is that the Fed fans are terrified right now. Pretty hilarious if you ask me given Fed's resume at W :D

I've always thought Evert secretly hated Serena. She was practically giddy during the final today while Serena was getting her butt whooped.

All of them were raving about Djokovic's performance against Goffin while he went on a rant about the state of tennis and didn't mention one time how well Novak played. And my God how many times was he going to say the name Simona today? We are happy she won too but dude you are no longer her coach. He has really annoyed me this Wimbledon.

It's funny, I was thinking about posting this identical thing: Cahill has been seriously annoying this year. And I had always liked him as a commentator in the past. Everything you said is true-- I was watching them after the Djoker-Goffin match and all he did was launch into a freakin' rant about how "none of the young players are stepping up and I'm sick and damn tired of it!" It was so out of character, I almost wonder if someone didn't script that for him to create controversy. It was really bizarre, and you noticed it too.

I can't speak for all Fed Fans, but I am not terrified about the final at all. My hope was that he defeated Rafa at Wimbledon and he did that. I was very nervous before the semis, but not nervous at all about final. The odds are he will lose tomorrow, but I'm OK with that in terms of Fed career losses. He beat Rafa and for me, that's good enough. At 38, I don't expect him to win slams and am amazed he's even in another final. That's incredible.

I meant some fans just from reading the thread. Not all of them of course. (y)

Yea it was over the top and bizarre.

It was a competitive match. Agut gets barely any free points on his serve, unlike Roger. Which is very important against Djokovic.
Agut was also better from the baseline than Fed all tourney, which has to be at least partly a factor.

Fed's serve will be the most important shot of the match tomorrow tho, no doubt.

Who has Djokovic played to this point? We have some clue to Fed's level, because he got to play Rafa. I am curious about the level Djoker will bring to the final.
Stats say RBA was playing as good as anyone. Led in baseline points stats which correlated to past Wimby wins despite the grass.

A bit unfair how Federer has to pull the Djokodal gauntlet here at nearly 38 to win this slam, while Djokodal have had easy slam wins for a while now.

Bro u are posting everywhere abt djokodal having easy slams now.
By that logic , fed still has 18 slams coz wimby2017 and AO 2018 doesn't even count ???

I agree USO 2018 was easy for djoko as delpo is 1 time slam champ. But Wimby 18 and AO 19 he won it by beating Rafa .

I'll quibble and say 60-40 Djokovic. I think Fed will definitely get one set, if not more.
Yeah,Novak in 4 is my guess. I just hope Fed can make it exciting for a while by winning the first set. If Novak wins the first, the match is most likely dead by then. It could go 3 or 4 hours after that, but the match is most likely dead in terms of Fed's chances if he loses the first set...

The guy literally just posted this on twitter. Pepe is lurking
I used to think this was garbage too. Until I started practising mindfulness myself, and realised it's effectiveness.

This for me shows he is mentally prepared. He sees that the cameras, the crowd, and the lack of support, and his trophies, mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. He has done more than enough to remain in the history books. Total serenity.

"My belts are junk" - Mike Tyson.

Novak understands this.

He will slay the Dragon that Federer represents. He will be victorious. Like St George did. He will overcome.

Excellent POST.

People have to listen to Novak outside of tennis to understand the level of mindfulness he has achieved.
The ability to stay in the moment, completely focussed, ignore all distractions and realize the power of his own conscious. That is what Novak has achieved - in short Spiritual nirvana.

It is extremely rare to find a pro athlete who is so mindful and serene. Djokovic truly understand the consciousness beyond the mind. That is why I believe Novak will remain this mental beast - far more than Fedal.

But not Rafa AND another Big 3 member.

Fed basically has won Novak's Wimb from last year, but it's not over, as he has to beat another ATG to take the trophy as opposed to having Anderson.
