Wimbledon 2022 Gentlemen’s Singles

Hurkacz out, Berrettini out with Covid ... Wimbledon might become a lot less exciting. There doesn't seem anybody left in the top half of the draw who is likely to give Djokovic a match, unless he has an off-day ... which could of course happen at his age. But even on an off-day he can probably still beat most of those players unless they play their best.

Not sure about the bottom half of the draw either - I don't trust Tsitsipas to make it even to the semis. We could potentially have another Djokovic-Nadal final, but where are the new guys?

Both Djokodal have cupcake draws at this point. Them not making the final would be the biggest shock here.

If Alcaraz suddenly wakes up one day and has inherited all of Federer’s grass court knowledge, then I give him a shot. However, unless he somehow learns how to play on grass in the shortest time span of all time, you’re probably right

Didn't realize that, what would happen if Djokovic tested positive? I'd bet $100 that he'd keep playing or find some loophole to keep playing

He is so obnoxious and unself aware. When the journalist asked him if he has sympathy for the umpires and line judges who take verbal abuse from players, his answer was completely unintelligible. And when the other one asked him about his ageism, he had absolutely no answer when confronted with the correct notion that an older person CAN have good eyesight.
 
It's amazing how there are no covers on the courts, have not been for over an hour, and yet... They are not playing? What a disaster. Good thing they got rid of middle Sunday.

They should just play while it’s raining; making this a clay slam makes Nadal the favorite :D
 
What happened to Humbert? Just a year ago he was Top25 and now he can't do **** on his best surface against a grass clown like Ruud
 
Seriously I have no idea how a halfway decent grass court player could even lose a set against Ruud on grass. Ruud's FH is useless on grass and he has no BH on any surface lol

It's playing like a medium bouncing hard-court, so he's not as helpless as he might have been if the ball was staying lower and skidding more. Saw his first match too, he's flattening the forehand out fairly frequently as well.

I'm sorry but getting broke by Ruud 3x in one set on grass... I can't believe this bum might make it to the SF with that joke of a draw
 
The Peniston is trying to stiffen his opposition to the strong play by The Johnson after a very flaccid performance during the first two sets. 4-4 30-all third set.
 
Despite stiff opposition from The Peniston it was The Johnson who climaxed in the end after fighting off two BPs. It is The Package moving deeper into the draw, likely to face another NCAA player Cam Norrie. USC Trojan over TCU Horned Frog? The Package will be well sheathed for that match.

He sure will, but Carlito's match today is no walk in the park either. To me, Otte with his flat game has the tools to trouble Novak, so that's the real interesting one to look forward to.
