Alcaraz won’t be spinning his FH back down the middle to Novak, and he will be tracking down the BH to BH rallies with his divine footwork, and not drifting slices back, and all other things being relatively equal…Carlos in 4 tough sets. If it becomes a beatdown, I will feel sad for many hardcore ND fans, because the path to fpp and obscurity will be tangible.

Djokovic getting to 6th straight Wimbledon finals in a row is an incredible achievement! Unfortunately no chance here against the supremely talented and physically specimen in alcaraz! Alcaraz in 3 comfortable sets! He will defend his title.

lol trying to jinx Carlitos.

Btw, Carlitos in straight sets is at +310 and Djoko in straights is at +550.

Carlos a clear favorite right now, but there’s some uncertainty. It’s hard to bet Carlos because you can’t tell where his game is at all .

Question. What would you rate Novak's movement at this point of the tourney ? 80 percent, 90 percent ,95 percent, 100 percent ? Is he still favoring that knee at this stage ?

Id say novak movement is about precisión and anticipation, not about speed, thats why hes still winning in late 30s, and thats why as long as that knee doesnt break, i dont think It makes much difference

Yeah, honestly, today's matches make me more hopeful of Alcaraz's chances. In his last two matches, Carlos dropped a sloppy first set and then basically rolled. That's a far cry from what happened against Tiafoe or even Humbert, and those two matches feel a bit more in the rear-view mirror now. Djokovic I think will need to pick up the serving. It was better indoors, but now outdoors again today it seemed to suffer (and the forecast for the final looks overcast but not rainy). For about half the match today he was languishing in the low 60%s behind his first serve – this against a guy who was just chipping the ball passively into play. Musetti also gave Djokovic all the initiative in a lot of rallies with his mid-court slices, and even when he came over the ball he generally needed more time and space to hit it well than Alcaraz does. I was honestly surprised Musetti kept it as close as he did and I think a lot of it was down to Novak just not being dialed in.

Anything can happen of course – maybe Novak just hasn't brought his highest level yet. For the most part he's been coasting, doing juuust enough to win comfortably (but not exceptionally dominantly) against thoroughly overmatched opponents. Carlos has had some very worryingly low dips in play this fortnight but his best has looked, to me, better than Novak's best (with the exception of the serve, where Djokovic's best has been far and away superior). Maybe Djokovic has a higher gear to go to – historically, that's been true, but he's getting older and coming off a surgery and even before the knee injury hadn't really shown that higher gear much this season, so we'll see. Also need Carlos to hold up his end of the bargain and play at least as well as he did in the last couple matches. Should be a fun one.

Not a lot just like most other fans

Mine however are true most of the time. Before AO 2017 I had a feeling Fed was going to win even though most have already given Rafa the trophy and Rafa had his numbers in slams for a decade , when Rafa took the lead in 5th even then I wasn't not feeling it. I had the same feeling that France would win in 1998 even though Brazil were overwhelming favourite ( same goes for 2006 against Brazil when nobody gave France any chance since their team was very old )

Djokovic is winning this time. When it comes to avenging loses, Djokovic is the best at it. Last year was a fluke win for Alcaraz and this time he won't be able to repeat it.

#25 is coming at Wimbledon. Idemo!

Father time has caught up with Djokovic. Alcaraz is just too good and immune to the pressures of a Grand Slam final.

Lost in all the hype is the fact that Carlos just doesn't play the kind of tennis to beat Novak CONSISTENTLY. The roller-coaster tennis won't get it done because Novak has figured him out. Last time they played he has the small man in tears and Novak since Roland Garros is playing better than he did last year. Expect a comfortable win with maybe one tight set.

The only thing giving me doubt is Carlos has a tendency to make an avalanche of errors in bursts, when it rains it pours. Could be enough to allow Djovak to steal a set where he wasn’t the better player.

But I just don’t see any way a 37 year old Djoko outplays him over 5 sets. It shouldn’t even be as close as last year, really.

Novak will have to serve 70+%, Alcaraz have a very bad serving day and not feeling the ball well, and even then, it still will be uphill battle for the old Serb. His intensity just isn’t there with what Alcaraz can produce.

I will go with Carlos in 3 or 4, even the greatest legends have their end.

The dynamics in this final seem completely different compared to last year. Twelve months ago Djokovic had won the first two majors and was the four time defending champion so you could understand why many people regarded him as the favourite whereas now he's 37, has been in poor form all year and is coming back from surgery just a couple weeks before the tournament started so in a sense it feels like all the pressure is on Alcaraz this time round.

Deep down I do think Alcaraz will win but I'll be fascinated to see if Djokovic employs different tactics to what he used in the 2023 final in order to shorten the points and take the Spaniard out of his comfort zone. Getting into lengthy exchanges with someone that gets every ball back is probably not the best route to go down, especially when that player is 16 years younger than you. And for God's sake Novak please serve better than you did last year.

Considering Djokers age yea Carlos should win. The past finals should show this. But it’s also Djoker. He’s not a normal human being so. Ehh flip a coin really. Depends on who wins set number 2 I will say. Could be underwhelming or could be another 5 sets thriller.

I feel like this is desperation mode for djoker though. He hasn’t much time left for number 25
