Here we go, 4th meeting between the pair with Djokovic leading the H2H 2-1.
Previous clash - Monte Carlo master's QF 2024 - Djok def. ADM 75 64
Previous slam match - AO 2023 R16, Djok def. ADM 62 61 62.

How does this one go? Who wins and how many sets?

If there is one tennis player in the world that Djokovic hates, it‘s Alex De Minor. He will destroy him.

I'm not sure why anyone would think AdM will withdraw from one of the biggest matches of his career; his first Wimbledon QF

If I were him, I would play even if that meant rolling out in a wheelchair
I generally agree but disagree with the notion that he has nothing to lose, per se. He has just reached a career high in ranking and a large chunk of that comes from the finalist run in Canada last summer. So, if he’s really in a compromised position physically, then he has to weigh the risk of possibly missing the summer HC swing if he worsens the injury here.

That being said I think the lack of injury reporting post match is probably a positive sign, and he has a day and a half to test himself and prepare a gameplan. He might have just tensed up but is completely fine.

Match will be played without the roof and expect a windy day on Wednesday (15 mph). Exactly what ADM loves (remember the ADF match in Toronto in the wind).

There is no injury. ADM made it crystal clear in his press conference. He is fine.

He just won a title on grass and is in the best form of his life. Absolutely destroyed Fils who beat Hurkacz in the previous round. IMO it's delusional to think Djokovic will olbiterate him like as fast as he did Rune. Did you see their 2 matches this year? Both were close battles.

ADM wins minumum a set, maybe 2. It's crazy how people always underestimate him. He isn't ranked #6 in the Race by chance. I will actually feel more confident if Djokovic faces Fritz in the Semi.

Because he talked so much **** about Djokovic in 2021/2022.

Wrong. It was just ONE comment (taken out of context and totally blown out of proportion on social medias) during the AO2022 fiasco. And De Minaur was merely answering a question during a press conference. He and Djokovic are completely fine today, they had a nice exchange at the net in Monte-Carlo. Djokovic said they get along.

The demon! A dreaded matchup for Djokovic, but luckily, we have an injured demon on our hands here. Djokovic escapes in 5!

It’s funny that half of the field seems to be injured. I can’t recall ever seeing so many walkovers or players losing matches due to injuries. Strange.

This could turn into a war. Djokovic has become Rambo in his last few matches, he will need to continue in that vain if ADM is healthy and ready to go. Hopefully he is, all eyes on this one.

The battle continues....

Imagine the irony if Djokovic remains healthy, if his opponents, who are so much younger, are not able to compete with him because of injuries..

Incredible scenes.
I don't know what to think about this guy. I wanted Federer to be sitting where Djokovic is at the end of his career. Had the game I liked to watch. But how he is doing what he is doing right now absolutely blows my mind. The fact that he won his last match with three such easy sets is something I simply did not see as possible. How could this happen after surgery?

But I do think that if he wins this Wimbledon, the legacy of both Carlos and Sinner is going to be permanently damaged. Because if this man now 37 years old could still be this dominant, you just have to wonder why these younger players can't get the upper hand.

I feel De Minaur's only option would be to grind Djokovic down and extend points and rallies as long as possible which I think he's capable of . He is never going to win playing first strike tennis against Djokovic

Isn‘t there an easy answer for this? While Sinner and Alcaraz are ATG, they still aren‘t on the level of the greatest player of all time? No shame in that.

To be fair, they have a much tougher draw than him, as they have to go through each other to face him. A couple of things though.

Novak in his late career is serving better than ever. He has become an incredible spot server, much better than when he was back in his 20s. He is also the best he has ever been around the net, some of his best volleying displays have come in recent years, and that is because he is not playing the usual game you see from the bulk of his career.

He also was not meant to be playing Wimbledon, even his wife questioned him and asked him why he last minute decided to change his plans and risk his last shot at the Olympics. He kept it from even his wife that he was changing the script, something he himself spoke about before the event began, so you can see he simply has his insane mindset to compete even when he really has nothing left to prove.

I don't think this impacts Sinner or Alcaraz at all, Djokovic is simply too darn unique. No one has his discipline, something other players have said, and he is simply too driven, that even now, he refused to let this Wimbledon title go without giving it a shot. I guess he simply doesn't want any regrets, he has a few shots left and he is taking them.

I said this guy will be a contender until he is 40 as long as he doesn't get a major injury, heck Federer and even Nadal would be contenders until they were 40 if not for injuries. These types of players just don't belong with the regulars ATG, they are cut from a different cloth.

He's playing the same grinding game from the base line; he's just using the opportunities that he did not use to turn into offense years before.

If his back is fine, I think De Minaur may steal a set or more as I am starting to believe that grass could well be his best surface, even over HC, I just find that his relative lack of power is less of an issue there. I know that Novak is Novak but I find it hard to gauge his level yet, Rune was just dreadful yesterday. Still Novak should win this, anything else would be a humongous upset.

ADM may choose one clinic; the medical clinic for his hip instead of an on-court clinic by Djokovic.

This won’t be as easy for Djokovic as people think. Djokovic wasn’t great against Rune just solid. Rune beat himself but de Minaur will be much more solid and make Novak work. Djoko might have the firepower but he needs to serve well and hit his groundies with precision and accuracy of he will be in trouble.

Isn't DeMinaur injured?

I agree that AdM will make Djok work. Pretty sure that Djok comes through in four at the most, though.
We'll see.
