It seriously just boggles the mind. How does he play his loosest, most confident and free-wheeling tennis in the fifth set – every single time?
He is very young and fifth set comes to fitness as well.

The Tiafoes of this world don't belong on tennis court in fifth set.

Never said he doesn't have a bright future. But he makes it much more difficult for him than it needs to be.
He keeps on going to 5 sets in matches, he should win sooner.
Credit where it's due - but IMO he is STILL NOT at the level needed to beat Sinner or Novak.
Sure - he can raise his level, but Carlos needs to be more efficient disposing mugs.
Thats because he is his own player, its a different style from rafa or novak, theres not only one way to do things, and an attacking player like him IS not gonna be also super consistent at 21, despite that, he has won so much already

This guy’s 4th and 5th set clutch is quite something rn. In fact his record after splitting the first 2 sets must be pretty ridiculous, his losses recently have only been after going down 0-2. Even if you’re up 2-1 after 3, you’re in trouble

Alcaraz really took control of that match and won the psychological battle. Well done. Impressive. Although, his opponent was Tiafool...

Djokovic just lost a set to a British journeyman, and Sinner lost one to Berrettini... It's not like they are looking unbeatable either.

It is likely that Carlos will win this five setter. But you have to wonder why he has to struggle so hard this early in the slam.

True. I mean he has so much talent that he can literally destroy most players in straights.
The problem is the random UFEs that he does. Almost like having too many options - but he goes for the most spectacular shot.
Once he figures out the right mix of aggression and defense, he will be much much more effective. He just needs his game to be more airtight.

Brit commentators are getting so confused pronouncing the z in Alcaraz now that they're saying it on other words like most eg: motht. Ridiculous

I'm pretty sure Alcaraz whined at Queens or some recent tournament about the incorrect pronouciation of his name. I think they're doing it right now, It's Alcaraz like wrath at the end.

Yeah, I saw that. They're so aware of trying to pronounce it correctly that they're starting to use it on English words accidentally. It's quite funny

He has to find his way, but there are some things that have no explanation, like how after not feeling the ball for 3 hours, he plays a 5th set like that, or how he plays in some important moments, you can train consistency, but those things that he does, no one can teach or learn that

I don’t think sinner is better than alcaraz physically or mentally. Sinner can only win if he wins it fast with his tennis skills. He capable but if it becomes a long battle then my money is on alcaraz again.
Agree. If Alcaraz makes it a physical contest, he beats Sinner and probably Novak and gets another SW19. But both players have the game to beat Carlos in 4, if they are playing well. He needs to tighten up his game before then. He looked a bit dazed and confused in the first few sets and then suddenly woke up!

Alcaraz is lucking out basically by the skin of his teeth this year. He’s barely escaping these matches. His luck runs out soon. Needless 5 setters is stupid. Sooner or later it catches up with you because now you’re just putting needless miles on your body. Alcaraz shouldn’t be dropping sets until the quarters or semis

You sinner fans don’t learn. You get carried too away. Alcaraz has did more than sinner so far. Don’t set yourself up. Be quietly confident but the disrespect for alcaraz who’s a 3 time slam winner and defending champion is crazy.
Don’t know why some fans insist on being so arrogant. We’ll see if Sinner squashes Alcaraz if and when the match happens. Nothing in the history of their matchup indicates that Sinner will flatten Carlos here, but I suppose it’s possible. We’ll just have to see.

I'm probably going to catch a lot of disagreement here, but right now Alcaraz' ceiling is higher than Sinner, but his floor is also lower. Alcaraz can play undisciplined and fall behind Tiafoe, but he can also shift gears in the fifth and make the guy look lost. Sinner plays at a really high level and can make great shots, but doesn't have the peak of Alcaraz. Sinner also doesn't play terribly almost ever since last year. I hope to see another matchup!

No, completely agree. Carlos' ceiling is higher, but Sinner plays at a higher level for longer, which is why it is such an intriguing matchup.

Always been the case tbh. But Alcaraz did have a higher floor too back when Sinner's low was quite low.

Who do you prefer? Sinner or Alcaraz?
Who do you think will win more slams in the next 10 years?

What a pathetic miss on game point.

Look at his pathetic footwork. God, juniors at the tennis club down the road have better fundamentals.

Carlos doesn't just lose this match, he's lost the war. He's getting humiliated. His entire style of tennis is being roasted publicly. Does Ferrero do anything? The kid has no respect for the game, no respect for the basics, he just YOLOs it and it works most of the time. He has nothing for an actual tennis player with actual tactics, defense, and ball striking ability. Carlos needs to fire Ferrero and go back to the drawing board completely. An utterly shambolic catastrophe of a performance.
Is this a copypasta?
