Is there a link to the draw anywhere? I don't see where there is a full draw posted...

So Federer will face Gasquet in the 1st round and could potentially meet Henman, Haas or Berdych, and Ancic to get to the Semifinals where he could meet Nalbandian. Nalbandian's health is suspect so it could very well be Blake who gets to the semis. He has a good chance.

Murray has Massu in the 1st round and if he can get through that he might face Roddick in the 3rd round.

Safin has Rusedski in the 1st round and probably Gonzalez in the second round. Ouch! If he can get through that we might see Safin vs Hewitt in the 4th round. We might see a Roddick/Hewitt quarterfinal here.

Agassi has a shot at getting to the semis! IF he's playing well. He has Pashanski in the 1st round, this guy is 9-15 for the year and seems to be an average claycourter. 2nd round will either be Seppi or Jamie Baker. Agassi just beat Baker 6-4 6-4 a few days ago. 3rd round is almost guaranteed to be Nadal. Agassi will need to be in a good rhythm by then to be able to take down Nadal. Whoever wins that match will probably get to the semis. Ljubicic and Davydenko are the seeds and they'll probably lose early.

OUCH!

Wow, this is the most interesting draw at Wimbledon I've seen for years. A lot of the great grass players seem to be set to play each other even before the semis.

A Hewitt/Roddick quarter is rough for both guys. As are the Fed matches first two rounds. We all know he's most vulnerable early on, and Gasquet and Henman can both beat him. If Fed does happen to lose, looks like the winner this year will be the winner of the Hewitt/Roddick quarter.

somehow this draw seems pretty lopsided...Fed vs Gasquet is the only 1st round I just hate - 2 of my favs - this sucks, compare Feds quarter with Nadal's and you can't believe how lucky Nadal is - if he doesn't make the quarters he's really useless on grass

If Agassi has his rhythm back, that will be a tough match for Nadal.

that's a big IF - I wouldn't bet on it, but hope for a great 3rd round with Agassi winning in his last Wimbledon!!

How about this possible scenario?

Fed goes out early.

Blake gets to the finals.

Hewitt beats Roddick.

Nadal beats Agassi.

Nadal takes out Hewitt (which he is definitely capable of).

And Blake meets Nadal in the final!

(Not that likely, I know, but with this draw, SO much is possible.)

Look, though. Other than Karlovic in the 3rd or 4th round (or whenever it was), Fed has had a pretty easy draw in the first week of Wimbledon in previous years. Let's just see how he does with this test.

But in general, I agree. Two quarters--the Fed one and the Roddick/Hewitt one--seemed to be stacked with all the big servers and good grass players. The other two quarters seem SO lightweight.

Yes..but it isn't exactly the perfect time for Roger to be tested..:(
how do they determine the draw??

The seeds are placed in designated spots based on their seeding, the rest are a lucky-draw / random process / lottery etc. They sounded like they were drawing numbered something-or-others from a hat or similar ;)

Yes, it's just 'the luck of the draw', as they say.
After the seeds are placed it's random. I don't think the Brits would have been given such tough draws if it was a fix!

Would it really matter? I can't say I know many of them, but some of the wildcards seemed to have ranking numbers bigger than some phone numbers :)

You got a point here!Wimby is not the calciopoli..

The draw sucks. Imagine, if Nadal was in Fed's place. He wouldn't breath longer on the first day. His draw is joke.

I'm really sorry for Gasquet, and Federer has a hell patch to final. All good grasscourt player (except hewitt and roddick) are in the top half.

You know, I don't think Roger will be too scared.
These are the 'difficult' opponents in his quarter:

Gasquet - beaten him the last 3 times they played
Henman - beaten him the last 3 times they've played
Haas - beaten him the last 6 times they've played
Berdych - beaten him the last 3 times they've played
Karlovic - beaten him the only 2 times they've played
Ancic - beaten him the last 3 times they've played.....
(although Ancic was the last person to beat Fed on grass in 2002)

so what's the panic?

Hmm - the draw is tougher in the top half, no question.

But to win a GS you have to beat 7 players, sometimes it's harder, sometimes it's easier. Who's to say who'll lose where, get injured, have a flash of form (look at Baghdatis at the AO!), come from nowhere (the young Becker), etc etc.

In reality, a more positive spin is that at least if Federer / Roddick / Hewitt wins through a tough draw, there'll be no questions as to them having an easy run of it! Hewitt's last wimbledon win does receive such questions....

If you think like this, then the draw doesn't mean anything for Fed since he pretty much has won everybody in grass.;)

You make a good point.... but the same point can probably be made for federer against most of the ATP tour! (Yes, I said most, Nadal fans, I know the same cannot be said for Nadal).

I think the point others are making is that many of those are some of the biggest threats on grass, so the *potential risk* is higher....

I am excited about the draw! I was so surprised about Henman getting it so rough, I thought that the boys at the old England club would tweak that more in his favour!! You never know what may happen though.
It would be great to see some mixing up this year and the draw is certainly capable of producing that.

yes that's the point and what really **** me off is, that Gasquet, Henman and Nalby( like always  ) are in Feds half - I wished for a good Wimbledon for Gasquet and Henman they deserved a good draw for once - same goes for Haas.
+ I wished Nadal would draw Safin early, cause this matchup ( like the one with Nalby) is the one I'm waiting for for a long time, but seems never to happen.

Well, I think its great for tennis that Federer got a tough draw. Usually he gets the easiest draw possible (his French road to the final was a joke, his Aussie title this year was a joke) so now he will be tested. If he is the GOAT like everyone is so quick to claim him to be, then it won't be a problem. I hope he goes out by the 4th round though....

its not like i wanna support for nadal, but i think agassi age and his back problem might give nadal some confidence to win... and also, hewitt / roddick might be fun to watch

I thought Joachim Johannson was planning to make a comeback at this Wimbledon? I was really looking forward to watching him play... :(

Agassi's back problem will actually have to be affecting him for Nadal to win that match should it happen, that one will have nothing to do with confidence.

You're talking about someone playing in (what I think is their) second Wimbledon, who has an inappropriate game for the surface, who is under an injury cloud, up against someone who has won it, been a finalist, been a dual semi-finalist, and has, of the baseliners, the equal-best game in the world (with Hewitt) for the surface.

If they're both fit, it should be a straight-sets win for Agassi, and I'm betting Agassi would look forward to playing him so much more than many potential opponents (like, Fed's 1st/2nd round!)

I think Nadal against Agassi will be a good one but i like Nadal.LMAO, have u seen the names, Robby Ginepri, Mardy Fish, give me a break.Just look at the names on Nadal's side of the draw, some of these guys i havent even heard off!!!!

I dont think so.They put Hewitt, Safin and Roddick in one draw all at the same time. How about putting one fo those names on Nadal's side of the draw.It looks uneven too me.

Nadal is thru to the finals with his easy draw. Agassi will be no match for him.

Federer meanwhile will struggle in his tough draw and will be exhausted in the final.

Easy win for Nadal in 4 sets in the final.

I got a bit carried away seeing how tough the Fed draw is: Gasquet first, then maybe Henman with the whole Henmania stuff going on in the crowd.

Nadal has a dream draw. With Agassi rusty I think Nadal might might it to the quarters where he will be crushed by Ljubicic/Davydenko/Tursonov or whoever he plays in that round. Federer has a tough draw but will still cruise to the title.

Looks like Roger will have to be focused from early on.Venus Williams should cruise to the QFs, where she might meet Mauresmo.I expect Venus in the semis.Mauresmo cant beat Venus on grass.

What r u smoking there? If lower ranked players can't beat him, there're hewitt and roddick who had a decent run at the Queen's.
