Novak Djokovic takes on Kyle Edmund for the fifth time and the first time on grass. Djokovic leads the H2H 3-1, but Edmund won their last meeting on clay on Madrid. Both have yet to drop a set.

Guessing this will be 3rd match on Centre Court tomorrow in time for Saturday tea time and post England v Sweden. Fingers crossed for a double win, but suspect Novak too strong for Kyle at this point. Emund is Not quite like Murray was when he beat Roddick at the same stage in 2006. Novak improving match by match as well. Still if Edmund is inspired hoping for he can upset Novak.

Matchstat betting site is predicting an Edmund win.

I'm not sure if it's purely on the previous Edmund win on Madrid clay or if they are factoring in the knee tweak during the Zeballos match.

I think it's based purely on Madrid win.
Madrid is the fastest clay condition so it might be a more logical prediction than if the win had been at M-C or Rome. But Bo5 on grass, I'm leaning towards Joe Kovic except for the knee tweak. That makes it a toss up IMO.

Henman Hill →Murray Mount →Edmund Everest

Henman passed the torch to Murray. Has Murray passed the torch to Edmund?

Novak said his leg is fine after practice:

Also praises Edmund's improvement, his (Kyle's) Swedish coach whom he knows from earlier (through his work with Soderling and Ancic) and said Vajda is much more than a coach to him. Says he's very happy with his grass form both in Queens and here in 1st week.

Anyone expecting a close contest is greatly overestimating Edmund and underestimating Djokovic on grass. If by some miracle this is a close match then Edmund needs to be zoning with his FH and Djokovic needs to be broken. There is no way Djokovic should be losing this match imo.

I don’t know. Edmund seems up for this. Plus home support.

Edmund is playing really well. Also, Djokovic doesn't seem to put enough weight on his shots yet, so the depth doesn't bother Kyle as much.
