You ever heard the saying, "Don't poke the bear"? Well they may have awakened the bear and that's not good for anyone else. LOL. Disgusting crowd, dishonest opponent and pathetic umpire will do that to you. Djokovic is dialed in now.
They obviously awakened the bear.

The beast is out. Be careful what you wish for. OMG .

Beware of Ultron's wrath. He will destroy everyone in his path.

Yea the rules say you cannot touch the net before your shot bounces twice and he clearly did. The shot was also well out so I couldn't understand what the hell he was doing. That's about as bad as an umpire awarding an extra point at Wimbledon 2004 to Sprem in a tiebreak with Venus when she hadn't earned the point. That guy is incompetent.
Also he dropped the racquet. Don’t the rules say you can’t drop the Racquet before your shot bounces twice?

Yeah, I can see not wanting to overrule the far sideline, especially if you are focused on the double bounce and the player rushing into the net . . .

But if you were focused on those things, then how could you miss either infraction?

Still, why did Novak not challenge? Unless he already thought the point was his and by the time he realized it wasn't, it was way too late.

I think Novak was just focused on the double bounce. In the post-match interview when the interviewer confirmed he was right, Novak said it just didn't make sense that it wasn't a double bounce with the way Edmund hit the ball and the racquet flying out of his hand.

Yes they do. Djokovic said after the match that he told the umpire it bounced twice and Edmund let go of the racket. He was a lot nicer about it than I would have been and said everyone makes mistakes. That umpire made 4 mistakes in one point that could have been costly.

I am sorry but that was cheating from Edmund blatant cheating and I think he should be given a hefty punishment for it.

Disgusting. These guys are stupid to cheat though, don't they realize people will see it in the age of HD tv, twitter etc?

wasnt cool of edmund ofc, but in the heat of the moment, and everything happened so quick..not that I agree but I can kind of excuse him not saying anything ...the umpire though that was like 3 strikes buddy

But why didn’t the umpire call the point for Novak simply because Edmund touched the net?

Novak heat of the moment excuse . He had all the time in the world to give Novak the point. If he won the match it would of been a black Mark on his career . Even now it is.

But he knew he had no chance of the match if he didn’t let the umpire make the call. Not much of a choice.

I think from our armchairs we forget what’s at stake here. This isn’t a park knockabout at the local court.

I love Murray......just to set the record straight.

But I will never support Edmund, after today. He has no heart, and will sooner or later be the journeyman he deserves to be.

By what he did today......Murray would never had done that.

He might (might!) not have done actually, but most of the other players feted as great most likely would have.

Doesn’t mean Edmund has no heart. Sportsmen have done far worse and are universally revered.

Edmund showed today that he doesn't believe in himself.

What he did today will haunt him for a while . Believe you me.....

Oh come on, it wasn’t blatant cheating, Maradona style. Even though everyone seems to be pushing that on him. Like I said earlier, this place is disappearing up its own ass.

If I was his coach, sure, i’d ask him to reflect on it. But the holier than thou reaction (including yours, with respect) is way over the top.

Djoker was quite impressive today. He handled the big hitter quite well. The semi between Nadal and Djoker will be a barn burner. Djoker won’t lose a set until he gets to the semi. Nadal might drop a set on his way there. Now that Kyrgios is out, the way path for an epic semi has been completely paved. I cannot wait to watch a Nadal/Djoker semi. We will see if Djoker can flip the script on Nadal.

He just lost a set to Edmund!

Djokovic said in his press conference that he asked to challenge Edmund's shot which was out and the umpire told him it was too late. Just incompetent and pathetic umpiring from all angles.

Djoker is so steady and consistent off the ground. If he gets Fed into those backhand to backhand longer exchanges I can see Federer dumping a lot of them into the middle of the net shades of 2015.

Jake was in the chair for the 2009 Roger-Del Po USO final, where he allowed JMDP to challenge a call 7 seconds after the point was concluded. Had he not done that, Fed almost surely would have won this match.

worst first impression in the history of bad first impressions

Wait. This was that same chair ump? That freak stained tennis history.
