thank you felix for keeping team abz alive.
Why is Felix talking like Montreal is some no-name city?
Watch his first career final win come at WimbledonWell it took 20 double faults from Zverev and 5 sets but Felix finally did it! He didn’t choke! Hopefully it’s a BIG mental hurdle that he just got over
His mother tongue and father tongue is french, it's his first language. His english wasn't so great a few years back.Felix sounds a bit French, but I suppose that makes sense being from Montreal.
More French native speakers in Montreal than English speakers. His mother tongue and father tongue is french, it's his first language. His english wasn't so great a few years back.
Praise to FAA for throwing Zod out on the street! Good match.
For comparison, Mahut hit 21 double faults in his 2010 loss to Isner. You know, the one that ended 70-68 in the fifth instead of 6-4 :/20 double faults from Zverev. What a gift of free points wrapped up in a bow.
I have never seen a supposed future multi-major winner get dragged to five sets SO many times.
FAA and Shapo have the potential to make many GS QFs in the future. Next Gen contenders into the next decade?Felix now joins compatriot Denis in becoming the only 2 Canadian men to make the quarter-finals of the same Slam they are competing in.
And 20 double faults.I stopped watching the match in the early goings of set 5 due to obligations. I wasn't expecting Felix to win. I thought he'd tighten up.
So pleasantly surprised to come back to see the results. I got to watch the final set, and was impressed with Felix. Yes, still some shanks, but on whole he really played well in that last set. (and thanks to Zed for obliging with a few errors.)
