Wind turbine blades, tennis racquets — non-recyclable?..

What happens to all the oil well drills when they are used up?
Apparently oil drills and even giant off shore oil drilling platforms get dismantled and hauled to be recycled.
Dismantling off shore rigs is a daunting task but it's been regulated by law since 1998: "Under a 15-nation protocol called the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North East Atlantic, known simply as Ospar, which came into force in March 1998, offshore platforms cannot be disposed of at sea or simply be left to rust and fall to pieces, as they risk damaging fragile marine ecosystems."

Wonder what mass of tennis racquets are filling the garbage heaps and lasting for millennia after Djoker & company are done destroying them... [emoji13]
They didnt prep for the disposal, its a great plan, but if they used metal they could melt it as scrap. They claim to be green yet dont use green materials to fabricate...

Can the next president have his own news network?

The current one has exclusive use of a news network. It's called Fox News. The fact that someone else owns it seems irrelevant.

And the left has exclusive use of all the rest. MSM is so partisan biased, I can't find one channel to watch that is objective, (though many claim to be) and that includes FOX.

I have always wondered what happens to tennis balls at clubs? I know they use them for practice balls for a while and then donate some to nursing homes to serve as slides on walkers but where do the rest of them go? Landfills? Recycled somehow?

America barely has a left unless you think billionaires like Bloomberg leftist, which you probably do.

Obviously not - it is not possible immediately. It is quite naive to expect an electric car to be made of recyclable cardboard today, or a teacher of Environmental Studies to bike to work every day. The gains are the overall gains in the system - the net balance of carbon cost. And even that will not happen at once.

Homosapiens is a terrible race.

We put up monstrous, disgusting wind mills, whose contributions are minute, just to feel a little better. While the real problem; growth, can continue to rise and we can all spend and be happy. We don't give two fecks about nature and life on the planet.

I reminds me of how we treat mentally ill; it's easier to give medicines to soften the symptoms, than to actually address the cause and do something about the foundation of the problems.

The Left is a cult at this point.
No its a direction in physical orientation and a philosophy in politics.
A cult is more like when a person is perceived as a divine leader ,controls the members and followers . Even to the point they cant see the leader deceiving and outright lying to both them and others.

’We’is not every human being luckily. In fact increasingly more do care and see the business case for a clean healthy lasting way of working.

maybe call Wilson and ask them if they cant start a recycling

Maybe I'm bad at reading but further down the article it sounds like there is already solutions developed to handle this potential problem.

But I'm not sure burying them in landfills is that bad. If they don't radiate pollutants and taint the water/ecosystem just burying them and let forest take over.
Or just build a wind farm on top of the landfill made by the old windfarms, or build a park or golf course or something.

That video is produced by the ’Heartland Institute’. What do you know about them?
US based conservative/republican think-tank? Founded in the 80s. There's some good stuff on their youtube channel.

Anyway, why not address the content of the video instead of who produced it?

Hmm, isn't it normal to protect your business against climate hysteria? As long as you're sticking to facts, it's ok.

Soon will come the day when people will be ashamed to admit they were on CC bandwagon. Demonizing CO2 will be remembered as one of the dumbest things humanity has ever done.

Politics is the art of the possible.

A fatalistic viewpoint only accelerates the decline.

Well uptil what point? After all CO2 is a greenhouse and the excess we are having from the business they prioritise will do what CO2 always has done and will continue to do . Regardless of human opinions and values and political Preferences and bottomlines.

LOL all the oil companies and the militaries have already started preparing for climate change - the information leaks out slowly. Even the party of bigots has woken up - their response is to plant more trees (which of course everyone welcomes) but that will not remove the plastic from the oceans - anyways something at least instead of nothing.

So military is manufacturing hot pants or something? Hopefully they keep the old stuff just in case.

Things that can be recycled. There is no reason the blades arent made from something green, they dont really do much but spin
Oh man

They undergo enormous mechanical stresses, including aerodynamic stresses of the kind found in aircraft wings.

The two primary aerodynamic forces at work in wind-turbine rotors are lift, which acts perpendicular to the direction of wind flow; and drag, which acts parallel to the direction of wind flow. Turbine blades are shaped a lot like airplane wings -- they use an airfoil design.
