Winning 3 slams at + 34 years old is unheard of

At AO, he managed the incredible feit of beating 4 quality opponents while afflicted with a muscle tear (Fritz, Zverev, Karatsev, Medvendev); in the final he was even odds, and yet stomped on Dani.

At RG, he cameback from 2 sets down vs Musetti then beat Berrittini, average Nadal and Tsistsipas, who was in scintillating form, in a marathon.

At W, he didn't have to beat a strong field, but still had to face a willing Berrittini and his bombs while not being at his best.

And he might still win USO.

What a performance for the ages by Novak.

When was the last time a men's player rolled into the U.S Open with a chance to win the CYGS?

Serena for the women in 2015. Choked and got destroyed by an unknown Roberta Vinci. Will that happen to Djock?

No way.

I don't understand.
A 34 YO shouldn't be coming back from sets down in multiple matches against the best players in the world looking fresher than them. If the competition was strong they would at least have SOME advantages over him. He's literally still better than them in every way, which again is a credit to him, but we are most of the way to 2022, and yet another year has almost blown by where they are still making zero inroads.

Djoko has won 8 slams since turning 31! o_O (almost 3 times more than Fed who's won only 3 since the age of 31!!! and Fed is almost 6 years older than Djoko!)
So who's the genius now?
It's worth repeating: Fed is extremely overrated and his mythical "longevity" even more.

I think people take the "age" factor too seriously. Some of the best athletes in the world are 30+. The greatest Rugby League player of all time retired last year at the age of 37, in one of the most physical games on the planet, and was arguably in the best form of his life. Tom Brady, Lebron James, Cristiano Ronaldo are other good examples. GOATs in their respective sports and remain on another level above the rest even though they are 36+.

That doesn't mean that the current NFL, NBA, NRL and Football eras are weak, it means that the level some humans are capable of reaching transcend the number of days they've been living on this planet. Age is just a number and with age comes experience - something that can't be practised or bought.

Do you think all the other players are thinking "Damn this is such a weak era"? No, they're wondering how the hell they're going to beat the strongest player to ever exist. My point still stands, the era of tennis we are currently in is one of the strongest eras specifically because Djokovic is in it.

Youngest slam winner is 29 yo is unheard of. Also he might never return to his best.
Next winner is 34.
There is no competition outside 40 yo Fed & 35 yo Ned.

How much you try to glorify young mugs, they don't want to beat the top guys. They're just spineless.

Both equally overrated to be honest! Both feasted on weak-gen no hopers void of competition.
