Wise 2086 Gripper - pulling double tension?

Hi all,

After acquiring my new Wise 2086, I noticed I was having difficulty pulling double tension to start my mains, using the Yusuki method. It seems that while the gripper has plenty of space for one string, when I stack the second string on top, it slips out as soon as the head pulls tension. In my previous 6004 crank, this was never an issue...

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I am aware of the internal set screw in the back of the gripper head, but to the best of my knowledge, this simply limits the travel of the gripper, and not necessarily the resting width between the two gripper arms.

Best,
Gayan

And of course, as soon as I posted this, I figured out the solution...looks like I had just overtightened the diablo screws a little too much, and it was squeezing the gripper arms every so much.

Gayan that screw on the back does limit the gripper travel. The farther the gripper travels the closer together the two plates come together. If you turn the screw in too far the two plates will not close on the strings and you will have the issue you are talking about.
