With Maggie Court in the conversation again, Serena falls back to #2 (at a minimum) . . .

As I said on the other Court thread, nobody in their right mind considers Court as the greatest women's player of all time. It's frankly disrespectful to Steffi Graf's far superior achievements.

Take a look at the embarrassing Australian Opens that Court won because nobody even bothered playing as it wasn't viewed as important/a slam. I think Court won 6 of her Aus Opens by playing only Australians and she also won 2 of her Aus Opens by playing just 4 matches.

Very rude to Graf, Evert, Navratilova and Serena.

I find it odd that we are comparing men's to women's records.
Why are we doing this now?
Djokovic is competing against men so his records should be against his field not some other field.
When they show grand slam records for women should they talk about Djoker, Fed, Nadal being above Evert and Martina?
Is Djoker above Steffi?

It just doesn't make sense.

Not Court's fault that no one else bothered to fly to Australia. She obviously took the time to fly to New York.

To discredit him as the greatest male player of all time, surpassing his two biggest rivals FEDAL while pigeoning them during the process.
 
Different eras and different circumstances, 24 does not necessarily equal 24. For one to feel that GOAT is totally determined by a Grand Slam count alone, they have a very shallow perspective of the game.

Because the US Open, Wimbledon and French Open were considered important and the Australian Open was considered nothing... Pretty obvious why she flew and made the effort and the others didn't bother with Australia.

Graf will always have the stabbing hanging over her. A younger ATG who won 8 out of her last 9 grand slams entered. Dont forget it was in germany by a german
