With this retirement, Noevack Joekoevitch now has achieved the Retirement Slam.

First retirement since switching to gluten-free diet. He used to have serious asthma problems caused by the gluten intolerance, which is why he couldn't finish so many matches.

That was really pathetic for the No 1 player to do this. That too to his friend.

He took an inappropriate MTO in USO 16 as well to derail Stan's momentum,

Stan was smiling today the moment he shook hands with Novak. No delayed smile / laugh.

This has nothing to do with gluten at all. Gluten would not affect your shoulder. Really confused as to whether he was hurt or could not take the pain? What is your thoughts?

He retired against Berdych in Wimbedon 2017 plus in other ATP matches
What about 2017 Wimb QF Berdych ??
My mistake. Actually the 2nd time then.

Yeah, that's why I said it's his 1st (correction: 2nd) retirement since 2010. I was talking about his frequent pre-2010 retirements, not this one.
Anyway, I'd assume the injury got a bit too much for Djoker to play through; he was struggling in his last 3 rounds as it is.

ffs this gluten ******** is a marketing scheme. Mention no bread in any orthodox church and you'll be laughed out by the priests

Djokovic was encouraged to go gluten free by a doctor who saw his loss vs Tsonga at AO10 where he puked mid-match and visibly struggled with his breathing. There's really no reason to believe his gluten-free diet didn't actually help his fitness; his results shot up and he stopped retiring from every other match.

Three of them were ten years ago, or more.

Injuries are a part of sport, so this is expected.

So pathetic.
Finish out the damn match. It isn't your dominant shoulder anyway .... just finish.

And is this really about an injury or is this a way to avoid an "actual" defeat? Since this one will have a little "*" next to it?

I had such high regard for Isner when he finished the Miami final because of the respect he had for his opponent and the fans.

Arrogant Djoker just couldn't do the same? Of course not. He shows no respect for his opponents or the crowd.

There is a reason the public has no love for him.

Classless.

I think he just wanted to leave Arthur Ashe and find that fan who heckled him at the practice court the other day and finnish him.

Thanks. I remember that they both needed USO to achieve it and we were posting who would get it first.

I do remember this now because Cahill said Tipsy achieved the career retirement slam on air and he clearly got that name for it from reading TT.

...and the last guy to hold all four major titles at once was... oh yeah...

Full disclosure - I ain't no Joker-fan, but when that achievement happens again is anyone's guess.
