Women’s tennis is more exciting right now

US Open women’s final: 2 unseeded players (including one who came through qualifying)
US Open men’s final: #1 seed vs #2 seed (with #1 seed most likely going to win)

Women’s tennis is by far more exciting right now. This US Open had fantastic matches and you really didn’t know who was going to be in the final. There were some good matches on the mens side too but everyone pretty much knew who was going to be in the final when the tournament started. Men’s tennis won’t really become exciting again until Fed, Nadal and Djoker have all retired.

I agree but not about the Nadal, Federer part. Also speed up the courts I want to see something like this again. This match has been brought up many times but now that was exciting. Do any players today even have the skills to play on a court like that?

One shows unpredictability and randomness the other shows consistency. It’s what you prefer.

OTOH had it been fed instead of Novak, none of you would make threads like Emma overshadowing Fed.

It was exciting because we didn't have to hear Serena Scream or cry if she lost the finals. I think it was exciting because everyone was rooting for a qualifier or some unknown who basically assassinated a bunch of high seeds to get to the finals. It could have been Sabalenka and Sakari in the finals and if that was the case, I don't think this thread would have been created.
