I'm going with Serena over Pennetta. Serena is better in every category, she has harder ground strokes off both wings, and a bigger serve. I expect Serena to punish Pennetta in straight sets.
Pennetta is ripping the ball too...she just can't finish pts as consistantly as Serena can tho.
IDK, I got a funny feeling a/b this one....Serena's gonna have to earn this victory, Flavia's not gonna give it to her.
I agree Serena will have to earn it but just by looking at the X/Os of the match on paper Serena should win. Bigger forehand, bigger backhand, and a bigger serve. Only way Pennetta has a chance if Serena doesn't play as expected or somehow gets injured.
Another boring and mediocre womens match. Ho hum, what else is new. No wonder nobody watches womens tennis these days.

Am i wrong in thinking that if Pennetta is talentless then it doesn't do much to prove Serena's greatness? In fact, if the WTA is just Serena and a bunch of hacks then that says more about Serena than it does about the rest of the field.
Pennetta isn't even remotely talentless...jeez, what is wrong with you people??? Her strokes and movement alone are...well, they are top 10 in the world
Lambielspins...should we bring up the quality (or lack thereof) of last night's men's match?
Last night? Djokovic played incredible tennis. Stepanek played decently but was just outplayed. How is that lack of quality. His winners/errors ratio was alot better than either Serena or Pennetta today I am pretty sure.
Funny thing that the "talentful" Williams needed to engage all her physical mental strenght (in her own words) to defeat the "talentless" PeNNetta (double "n", learn at least to correctly write her name, you mr.grafselesfan & lambielspins..).
However, the mere fact of rooting for Serena do not give you the right to personally insult other posters, isn't it mr.GSF?
And BTW from what you state you evidently are tennis FANS...but that does not automatically mean that you really understand something about tennis as a sport..obviously IMHO
Cheers....
In a long point from the baseline indicative of the entire match, Williams hit a forehand pass down the line to wrap it up. She then did a two-handed fist-pump before going to the net to congratulate Pennetta on a hard-fought contest.
Just voted for Clijsters. She's the only player who seems to be in decent form.
