If Serena and Venus both win though I suspect Serena will take some sympathy on her sister and it will be a competitive match atleast. It would only be fitting to pay Venus back for purposely throwing the 08 U.S Open quarters, and semi tanking the 09 Wimbledon final.

This match and the Henin-Petrova match are proof of what I said last year. Serena wins so many slams not because she is that great but since the rest of the womens field is such sh1t. When she has a real opponent like when Henin was in top form in 2007 or when many others were playing well in 2004 and 2005 she doesnt look so formidable apart from back in her 02-03 form which was nearly unbeatable for anyone. It is not her fault of course but it is why many of us arent in awe of all the slams she has won which are largely by default via a joke field.

What a way to make your first slam semi. Commit about 60 unforced errors, lose your serve 10 times including 4 times in the 12 game deciding set, choke serving for the match, choke away 2 more match points, and somehow still beat a 7-time slam Champion.

Venus hit 2x as many UEs to winners too. They both dragged each other's games down a few notches.

My apologies to Li Na. She actually only lost her serve 9 times in 16 service games in victory. I did not want to mislead any information on her scintilating performance and victory.
