Women's shoes for a guy?

Howdy all,
Wondering if any guy has ever thought about or tried wearing a women's tennis shoe? I have narrow heels and a normal/wide forefoot, and I find that I have room at the heel and ankle with heel slippage no matter what shoe I try, and I've tried many models. I address the issue by wearing two pairs of socks, except my inner sock has the forefoot cut off of it because I don't need extra bulk in the forefoot, just the heel/ankle.

Just wondering if a women's shoe last would have different proportions and fit my foot better?

Thanks!

Women shoes are almost same as men.
It depends on model too.
Usually women’s shoes are slightly narrower but I don’t have wide foot so actually women’s shoes fits better.
Just make sure 1.5 size down.
Honestly, Nike made unisex shoes for certain seasons such as vapors, flare etc...

Interesting, thanks for the sizing recs!

Ano, I haven't tried the FF yet, though have tried the Solution Speed 2's and the Ubersonic 2's; are the FF's snugger in the heel?

Yep upsizing 1.5 sizes is the standard; I've got vapor 9.5's and cages in women's and they fit the same as the men's IME

I haven't tried the SS 2's and Ubersonic 2's.

However, Asics Court Gel Ff have the best heel lockdown from many tennis shoes I have tried since 1991.

Take a look at the thread titled "Asics Gel Resolution 7 vs Gel court Ff".

I bumped that thread for you.

Interesting... for those of you who have tried women's shoes, any differences in fit or support or cushioning or whatever?

Thanks Ano, I'll check it out.

I have narrow feet too. I tried the women's version of the Asics Gel Res 5. I had to return it because it was too wide in the ankle! I second the suggestion to try the Gel Court FF. Go down a half size because there is plenty of extra space in the forefoot. The booty construction is much more secure than the normal tongue construction. I don't get heel slippage in that one.

Almost same for Nike and adidas. Can be slightly narrow but support/cushion is same.
Recently tried Nike flare (Serena shoes) and very surprised that it fits like a glove for me.

I have a similar issue where my ankle slips out of most shoes even with a heel locking lacing. In my experience, Lotto shoes usually fit narrower at the heel. Otherwise if you can wear women's shoes, go for it. You might save some money along the way as well!

If only they had women's size 13.5... :) But I agree, my wife often gets men's size 8.5 (she's a 10 in women's).

No. It’s almost same for vapors.
I randomly pulled out one men vapor 9 and two women’s vapor shoes and every shoes had different weight.
I wear 7.5 men’s shoes and 9 in women’s. 10-20g differences but men’s shoes were lightest.
I can’t tell other brand or models but vapor line has same weight.
