Legend
-soo, i just bought a 15$ wood paddle out of curiosity (ill post some pictures at a latter date)
-its a KANGA paddle (green with a kangaroo)
-its a wood 7layer plywood type pickleball paddle, i think its part of old cheap starter kits
-i was very curious to try it out, and see for myself what wood paddle felt like
-i was rather surprised at the feel of this thing!, no joke, it was a nice surprise
-all be it, the paddle head is rather small (in comparison to normal/standard size paddles)
-but the solid feel and/or the power was eye opening
-i played some games with it and did rather well considering the disadvantage of having a small head size paddle
-in order to play with the paddle, i had to get adjust and get much closer to the ball
-it is sort of like playing with a 85"sqr/head tennis racquet after having played with a 98"sqr/head size
-you just simply gotta be precise with your contact point
-but like i said, the reward is a nice solid hit!
-point and shot style paddle
-the weight of the wood made it more than solid enough to NOT buckle at impact
-now i gotta say, i did put a ridged overgrip on the paddle, that already had a ridged original grip
-so it did increase the paddle grip 2 sizes!?, from a #0 to a #3 (comfortable 4 3/8s), maybe!?!
-since pickleball is such a social gathering/event, ill keep the wood paddle in my bag for such occasions when i need to give a handycap
-if you havent, try hitting with one at some point and post your thoughts
